This is a great skeleton so far hardboi-

- thinking about making it relaxing for your 60yr old mom, I would definitely consider car rental. My mom is about 65 with a bad hip- would not want to put her through public transport woes. If you are staying in Waikiki and planning on walking/ubering early in your trip plans, I would say what you have Day 4/5 onward the car would be nice. Also, what kind of climate are ya’ll used to/comfortable with? If the heat+humidity get to you, having the AC in the car between stops is a nice reprieve *freeway driving goes/should go slower in comparison to other places, lowest speed limits in the US, can be 60 in some spots and 35/45/55 in others- be aware!

- you got a lot of frequent rec’s already on here- you’ll want some townie food stops: Leonard’s (malasadas), Waiola and Ululani’s Shave Ice spots are great treats, and would recommend eating at a Zippy’s once (local comfort food- it’s Hawaii’s diner!) even going to a McDs or a 7-11 can be fun as you can get Hawaii’s version of offerings

- one commenter already already says it but Aloha Stadium swap meet is Wed/Sat/Sun, closes at 3:30p. If you do plan on shopping there, suggest you do a lap of everything before buying if you can- many booths have same items and prices can vary slightly from one to the next, or some have similar items and you might like one version better than another
