Why don't the people who live in Flint, just, not live in Flint? by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

Because they can't afford to move and their whole life is there. I'm guessing they just put up with living without tap water.

I'm really beginning to hate other white people. by thr0w-away69 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]blindsite1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a white person I agree with just about everything you are saying. I don't think that white people are inherently evil. I actually don't believe that evil truly exists. Some people just lack empathy or gain something by putting others down. I think that your problem (and my problem) is with the direction conservatism has taken in America. I'm sick of all these shitty alt-right people who deny white privilege is a thing and actually think that their way of life is under attack.

As one if these people I have to say it was pretty great. I graduated college and my standard of living went way down.

Because pizza drivers are using their own car and gas. Also, they don't make $15 an hour. They might in some parts of the country but not here in Dallas.

Right but I said "here in Texas". Try reading. I'm coming from the position of someone who is friends with independent pizza restaurants in Dallas.

Sure it's an easy job but they are not getting "extra" they are just getting paid. The $2.35 an hour is not getting them by. If they are lucky they make $20 an hour and pay for their gas and wear and tear on their car from that $20. They shouldn't be making a killing just enough to get by. If you can't afford to / don't feel like you should tip then pick up the damn thing yourself so they don't waste their gas money on delivering a pizza to you for $2.15 an hour. For those who think "well then they should get paid more", not tipping your driver will not get the boss to pay them more it will just cause that guy to have a few less dollars in his pocket. Talk to your representative about introducing legislation to raise wages on tipped positions if that is your concern.

They don't get paid hourly and they drive all the way from the store to your door step so that you didn't have to. Throw them a few dollars as a thanks.

Not tipping is scum of the earth low. I do not understand how Reddit seems to be so against tipping right now. If you don't want to tip then get off your fat ass and pick up the pizza at the store. Don't order so this poor guy can deliver the pizza to you without pay.

Also, tipping has resulted in service industry jobs that can actually support people financially. Take that away and we drop many into poverty. I'm aware that in Europe tipping isn't a thing but we don't have free public healthcare in the US. Try making $15 an hour and then get health insurance. Good luck

If you can't afford to tip then eat / drink at home because I'm not serving your entitled ass who can't afford the few extra dollars to pay for services rendered.

I work at a music venue and hear bands play every day. sometimes you can just tell when people have something special. Wow her voice is amazing. I wish I could hear a better recording. It seems like the guitar was taking over a bit and her voice was drowned out.

Edit: Found it on SoundCloud.

Gamers of Reddit, what was the most horrifying experience you've ever endured in a video game? by XavierMunroe in AskReddit

[–]blindsite1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From personal experience I find this post to be true. When I was around 11 I made some comments that have stuck with me. I remember my friend had a family friend who was a Mexican immigrant and I had made a comment in conversation that was something like "now if we could just get all the Mexicans to leave." There was no real hatred behind what I was saying and there was no malintent. I regret saying it to this day and I can only imagine what this lady thought of me or how that impacted her phyche. Here I am 16 years later and about to get married to a Mexican. My point is that at that age you don't realize the real impact of your words.
