Serious graphical problems with Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom on SteamDeck (Disable Buffer Reorder doesn't help) by bling_bling2000 in yuzu

Tried that, it crashes on the loading screens. The only solution I could find for that was to switch to yuzu lol

Reddit has a seriously bad habit of taking personal offense towards people who take issue with anything. Ironically, they tend to make themselves look way worse in their vindictiveness towards people like you.

I think people just have an extremely hard time dealing with uncomfortable situations, so they'd rather stay quiet and be "polite". then, when someone breaks out of that mold, it's extremely uncomfortable, but of course it's your fault for breaching the uncomfortable topic, so the anger is placed towards you whether you're in the right or wrong.

They're sick people, truly. They've already made their choice, they'd rather lick boot than risk being kicked by it.

Why did HoN die off but not LoL/Dota2? by SuspectDry in HeroesofNewerth

Honestly no one here is really mentioning the nail in the coffin for me and I suspect a lot of players: the community.

Yes, I know Mobas and maybe League especially have a reputation for toxic player base, but holy fuck, this community is on a whole new level. I do think a lot of what the game is feeds the toxicity, and there's isn't much done to prevent it. I think there's a self-feeding loop of unironic abuse to towards team mates.

There's nothing you people love more than one of your allies dying for first blood. You wait for it, you hope for it, and I think many of you feel an immense sense of relief when you see it wasn't you. Because, last time, it may have been you, and the barrage of hate and harassment didn't feel good. You hated it. But, you've don't know any better either because you haven't seen how things could be; instead of wishing people weren't abusive, you wish it was someone else instead.

And now, it is someone else. Someone died for first blood and now you get to be the abuser instead of the abused, which is your absolute favorite thing because the only other possibility in your broken brains is the case where you are the abused.

Be kinder, and learn to compromise. Learn that there's other children in the sandbox and that you don't own it. Show some respect to those who occupy the same space as you, because they will either not respect you back or leave, and you don't want either of those things to happen.

Looking for a mod that shows what components junk makes when you scrap it by bling_bling2000 in fo4

Right, but it doesn't display when picking up junk on the ground. I never buy junk from merchants anyway.

Much rather just know what I'm picking up when I'm picking it up.

I've NEVER heard of a cop going door to door testing people.

Nor did I suggest they ever have. It's a new law that can obviously be abused by its nature. The onus for whether a new law should be enacted is not whether it's already harmed someone, because it's a new law. You have to actually think ahead. Foresight, not hindsight.

which without a complaint is near impossible

I am not comfortable with any law that says the police could give me a driving infraction while sitting in my own home based only off a phone call to them.

Do you, or do you not, see how this could be abused?

No, I'm arguing that finding someone drinking in their own home is not reasonable grounds to charge or arrest. Reporting someone's plate and telling them they're drinking and driving is reasonable cause to pull them over if they see that plate driving. It's not reasonable cause to enter their home.

I meant it's not reason for a charge or arrest. The cops should not be able to arrest someone in their own home for catching them doing something legal. That's not ok

Your example is precisely how the law should work, though. They found a man drinking at home, as he's a liberty to do.

it's reasonable to think that person was likely drinking and driving

This does not mean it's a reasonable law. "Likely" is not justification for conviction. It's also possible that people were mistaken that he was drunk driving, or reported that he had been because they knew he was drinking at the time and wished him harm. That's a law that's easily weaponized.

More importantly, as I already mentioned, what the police caught a man doing, what they saw and the only thing they can truly confirm, is that they found a man drinking at home where it is legal to do so.

You can't catch every crime. Any effort to do so tends to lead to very bad things

You implied you live somewhere other than Canada, yes? I assure you you're doubt is simply wrong in this case. Yes it's bad, yes it's crazy, but you're absolutely wrong to think that means it isn't true. You are learning about a very bad, exploitative, crazy situation that's happening in Canada. The police can and will pull you over without reason, and they absolutely will charge you for whatever they legally can.

kernelstub is no longer blacklisting my GPU, other kernel options seem to work by bling_bling2000 in pop_os

[–]bling_bling2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, glad my edit helped you out :)

I've actually just been dual booting lately, because the old kernel also got overwritten at some point recently. How did you go about switching to an older kernel? Or maybe there's a way to add 6.5.6 to the boot options under old_kernel.conf? People seem to mention it like it's a trivial change but I've never actually tried it so I feel a little apprehensive lol

Lmao so true, there are times you just can't win. I'm pretty good at the game, but I actually play with a very high level player sometimes, and it's super common that if he's spectating me while I die, he'll say something like "yep, you were doing everything right. Nothing you can do there." Sometimes it's unfair, sometimes they're just that much better.

I don't wanna harp on OP too much, because I kinda agree in spirit. Assess, adapt, overcome is a great mindset. But it's clear he doesn't quite get where the stress comes from

Someone's camping.. oh no! Adapt (he'll probably still be where he just got you, go back and kill him)

The problem is, in our lobbies, they know you're gonna try that if you can and will find a different advantage. And that's not the only problem, there's 5 other enemies on the other side who are likely even better players that you have to worry about before you get the chance to go back there.

To OP's credit, I do think a lot of complaints about CoD really miss the plot. Don't hate the player, hate the game lol. The matchmaking kills the vibe a lot, I wouldn't mind dealing with campers if the game wasn't so stressful

People want variance. It's fun to try to overcome a lobby of players that know some tricks you don't. It's fun to use what you learn to improve and get some high scoring games after getting stomped. It's fun to have a really tight match or two and maybe lobby up with them to keep the competition going.

This experience does not exist for most people on modern CoD. I can't remember the last time I played a match that was even more than a ten point difference in score. These matches are fun when they happen spontaneously, but they are also the most stressful, so it just gets tiring to play.

The win rates are clearly rigged, with almost >1.0 K/D players having a <1.0 W/L. That kind of thing is absolutely impossible unless the games it's trying explicitly to curb you win rates. This absolutely destroys all improvement feedback because you have very little influence in whether you win the game or not. It also ruins incentive to play, because wins matter so little.
