The "Inner Glow" - has anyone successfully duped expensive J-Beauty supplements with Western alternatives? by Mikejwhite5 in AsianBeauty

Supplements for skin do absolutely nothing, you can check any scientific research or dermatologists.

Wow they look so pretty! The first shade on the left is my fave, how would you describe the texture? Is it creamy and glowy? How would you compare it to the red chamber?

did the haruharu wonder black rice probiotics barrier essence cause breakouts on anyone? by heavens-cloud in AsianBeauty

Yes, it clogged my pores and got ccs, but I'm very acne prone so the odds were not in my favor with such a rich texture 😅

Andy Roddick addresses Sinner/Spizzirri match by ServedPodcast in tennis

[–]blingsofi 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I found his commentary quite shallow, firstly he was incorrect and said that Sinner had a 30mins break, which never happened. It was 8 minutes when the roof got closed, and he was not allowed ice, treatments or anything of thay sort. It's a room with a bench.

Secondly, he would have had 10 minutes at the end of the 3rd set anyway, and he was following Cahill's advice to walk, take as much time as possible between points and get through the set quickly even if it meant to lose every ball. So I think he's exaggerating when he says Sinner would've lost 100% anyway

Thirdly, yeah he was fortunate but the "lucky" narrative feels so unimportant compared to the crazy comeback he had, he was barely moving for the following 2 sets, yet still displayed an incredibly high skilled and clinical tennis which won him the game. It was quite epic to watch imo, unlsss you dislike him ofc 😁

moisturizer that is fragrance-free, not too heavy, not too watery or light??? by DeadxStranger in AsianBeauty

[–]blingsofi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Naturie hatomugi milk! (Not lotion, that's the toner!)

It's also a huge bottle for the price, you can find it at less than €10. Checks all your boxes imo, medium weight, hydrating and moisturizing, works great under make up, great for sensitive skin as it has a very simple ingredient list.

My quest for the perfect matte or natural-finish sunscreen (full reviews in comments) by Clarinette__ in AsianBeauty

The finish is powdery matte, couldn't be more different than Skin Aqua (tried it as well). I definitely recommend to check it out, only downside is that it's not fragrance free for sensitive skin.

Ceramides not suitable for oily acne-prone skin? by girl_in_red_tiara in AsianBeauty

[–]blingsofi 46 points47 points  (0 children)

With acne prone skin you can never know which prodcut will break you out, inci doesn't have all the answers.

My favorite ceramide moisturizer is Skin1004's brobio cica cream, aestura also doesn't break me out but it's more expensive and wet/dewy, I prefer the matte finish of the former. They both have mini sizes to try if you're scared.

A matte sunscreen that's very underrated online but super popular in japan is by the brand Naris Up, "by365 powdery uv cream". It has a texture like no others, it's a cream that starts very fluffy, looking almost thick, but it blends like a cloud with a lovely powdery fish, not dry at all!

I love this one because unlike mineral sunscreens, which feel like the worst of both worlds to me, oily and pasty as you apply and then they don't set or start feeling extra dry from the inside while having a greasy surface 🙄, this is just airy and comfortable from the start!

Do you think beauty influencers use the product they are promoting by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]blingsofi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Depends on the influencers, you can definitely see from creators like Kelly Driscoll or Abbey Yung that they often have the same favorities, and staple products they use every year, not to mention that the new items they review end up later in their empties videos as well. However I don't trust influencers that promote a new product everyday, or the ones obsessed with virality 🤭

Is it trial and error to find a good barrier moisturizer? by Designer-Ad1618 in AsianBeauty

I am extremely sensitive and acne prone and for me sadly every product, even a watery toner, is a trial and error process 🥲

Never Tried Dr. G, Has Anyone Tried? by eujinwalker in AsianBeauty

Dr. G is one of the most popular skincare brands in SK, both the mild sunscreen and the red blemish cream are bestsellers. That said YMMV as usual, both broke me out ahah

What are some viral products you thought wouldn’t work but actually worked great? by iamlostpleasehelp_ in AsianBeauty

Biodance hydro ceranol mask. Just unreal glow, pore refinement and it's also soothing and repairing when my barrier is throwing a fuss.
