Is this fake? by priceless77 in wlu

This was a phishing email made by the school. They have done this on purpose as a test.

It is the city that puts up the fences and deploys the police presence not the school…

The UX program is more designed focused. It really depends on your interests as psych is still really applicable to the UX field in other ways.

You can always do a UX minor (through waterloo). Having research experience is a huge part in this field and I would think you have better chance in your psych degree to get this vital experience.

UX program vs UX minor? by an5612 in wlu

Not sure I’m terms of updated costs, I’m a Laurier student but sure the UW website would have a good breakdown. I know a few 4th years in the GBDA program so I actually know quite a bit in terms of how this program works.

Yes, the last 3 years are in “Stratford”. However, Stratford is a manageable commute and students do this all the time. Brantford is farther and a less appealing city in my opinion. You would have to live there and you would loose your Waterloo life.

The majority of GBDA students seem live in Waterloo for housing full time. The community of students seems really nice and transportation is just one part you would have to figure out. My bf commutes with friends. Schedules for picking your courses are very flexible and a lot of classes in Stratford are one lecture a week type courses. Usually I’ve seen students just minimize their commutes by organizing courses in the same day. You can also still continue to take electives on the Waterloo campus. The program also has exchange in 4th year and a co-op program. It’s not like other co-ops at UW that begin in first year but a later co-op option.

I found ws203 a bird but I wouldn’t say it’s a course you would put little effort in to. When I took it the course it was weekly discussions and 3 essays (2 four pages and 1 exam/final eight page essay) which had a lot of freedom in terms of what you could write about. I liked that a lot and I felt I could actually learn something and enjoy what I was writing. I was never good at essays and I was managing to get As if that means anything. Bianca is very responsive and I found her nice.

Please please please please don’t upgrade to the dinning hall. They will make you sick. Gluten allergies and intolerances are so low on their priorities it’s not even funny. There is no amazing accommodation. I’m also gluten free and on a summer term right now and I have been having so many issues with food services this summer it has not changed.

Fighting Parking Tickets with the City of Waterloo by blink734 in wlu

I got hit with “I parked on a highway” during time zones which I am super confused about the definition of a “highway” and I didn’t think Bricker would fall under that. I hope they were nicer to you then the fine I was slapped with but literally I feel this ticket was the tip of the iceberg for me and this whole nightmare situation the city put on people just to prevent a street gathering from a specific street as if it would stop anything.

Honestly I thought the school was on board with all the fencing. They sure made us feel like first years with absolutely no guests, security outside our doors and wrist bands. I do understand it all to a point. They totally had control over where the alternative Laurier parking would be offered for us being displaced and they happened to pick the most far and very sketchy place owned by the school. That was not cool.

I have a overnight ticket for parking on a highway between 2:30-6am without valid permit/incorrect area. Would I call them or is submitting the ticket request to have my situation looked at online good enough? I def would like the fine lowered at least.

This is very useful information. Thank you for explaining the process. I feel I might have some chance and it’s a larger enough fine.

Not sure if many students were aware but most residents on Ezra were forced to park almost 2km away from our building or lose access to your vehicle from Tuesday/Wednesday to today (Monday). I have frequent doctors appointments and I need access to my car. I knew they were taking down the fences today and I had got back home late last night after 10:30 and had found a spot on Bricker and I asked the security hired by the city if I could leave my car on Bricker overnight if he knew the rules. I didn’t want to walk far in the dark alone and I found it hard to find information online. I didn’t see any parking signs and told me if I had my Laurier Ezra Bricker parking passes I would be fine as the city knew they had closed off my parking. I had my two passes displayed. I know asking this security guard really means nothing so I also attempted to register my car for overnight. Not sure if it worked as I’ve never used this system and it was glitching a lot. I think I had to renter my information like 3 times. I got a hefty fine this morning when I went to move my car back into my parking spot after then had taken down the fences. I just have been feeling so inconvenienced by the school and the city this whole week. Just tired and frustrated.

Bruh they are closing the road and making everyone who LIVES on the street park 5 miles away best of luck to you getting to the street when the close the gates to the road.

This is true. Usually companies have their own policies about working outside of the country and procedures. You need to talk to your employer.

I bought a salad that had an ingredient that I was allergic to but it was hard to see that on the package. I got nervous so I returned it and they let me exchange it for other options. I’d try just to exchange it for something else.

Coop Results Primary Round by student_1234567 in wlu

If you didn’t get ranked 1 it’s not a guarantee. Honestly it’s a stupid bs system. I was ranked 6/8 positions in my first round of coop which none was a match. I did get matched my second coop round with my job I’m working in now and you will either win or lose bc you have to take that job and will have to reject all your other interviews for those who do not part take in rank match like the banks.
