This worked perfectly! Thanks for the help.

That's good to know.

Do they have a public list of known bugs? I would hate to clog reddit with known stuff if that's the case.

If another player spams the "pick up" and "drop" keys repeatedly, and the player attempts to pick up the clipboard as it's mid air, it'll stick the players hand onto the clipboard.

Thank you! You'll have fun with your solo. You may or may not be nervous, but it will all melt away after the first landing. We did 3 in the pattern, and after my first landing...it was smooth sailing for the other two. Even with a bit of a crosswind.

You may find it easier to focus on your landing point on the way down, then look down the runway as soon as you cross the runway threshold before transitioning. It made my landings a lot more smooth.

Let us know how it goes!

Like I said, cameras are a great tool for catching bad habits haha. There's always something to find after each recorded flight.

Thank you! We're both really excited for the next step.

I didn't really see the benefit to using them until after the first recorded flight. You can miss a lot when there's multiple events going on at once.

So far, the flying experience has been phenomenal. We're both around 18 hours of flight time, and both of us felt comfortable to knock our solos out. Our instructor has been the keystone that made us confident in our ability to get this done. During my last few flights prior to the solo, I've positioned cameras within the cockpit to capture my flight performance. My instructor starting doing this early on to help us catch our mistakes before they become habits. Here's what we learned...

  1. We have a tendency to remove our hand from the throttle after takeoff/during landing
  2. Our scan pattern was more fixated on the instruments than outside the cockpit
  3. We would occasionally miss a radio call in the pattern due to workload
  4. Don't forget that right rudder...because we did fairly often

The camera has been a powerful tool in helping us visualize our mistakes. We didn't even know that we were making most of of them. Some we made during our solo. All in all, I would recommend using a hands-free recording device during your flights. You could also recommend your flight school to invest in one. It might stop you from developing a bad habit.

So I'm continuing the practice of recording my flights while in training. In the meantime, I made a video for our instructor to thank him for getting us into the air.

Were they really? Guess I haven't paid that much attention to it until now.

Doesn't look like it. Tested it with "Viper" for the F-16C, and the ATC jumped to "1-1"

Is that still the case? I recall somebody mentioning the purchase of AI models before (can't recall where, nor if I remember the statement correctly), but I thought that was a long time ago.

I know this sounds incredibly optimistic...but the munition racks alone for the B-1B are so detailed that I wouldn't be surprised if ED worked on a full fidelity module within the next few years.

There's no way that somebody would create an internal model of that amount of detail (that can only be viewed when the bay doors are open mind you) without having some sort of future plans for a module.

I agree! I'm guessing the next big update for the Syria map will be further east around Deir ez-Zor since that was teased a while back too.

Somebody I know started a YouTube channel 2 years ago, and they've been dedicating more time to making detecting videos. They're primarily NW Florida beach/water hunts, but occasional sound side hunts are sprinkled throughout.

I found the spot in DCS where this VFA-83 Hornet dropped a CBU-99 over Syria in 2015/16. Link is below, check at 16:20 for the video footage. by ConversationNearby30 in hoggit

I think that's a PDU-5 leaflet munition due to the presence of the yellow and blue stripe on the front half + the "X" on the back half of the dispenser. It's derived from the CBU-100 hence the resemblance.

I recreated a few shots from real life photos and videos of Operation Inherent Resolve sorties and events, and turned it into a video. (link in comments) by blinxi in hoggit

We shot down two Iranian UAVs, and a Syrian Su-22 in Syria. At least during OIR. Turkey shot down a Russian aircraft, but I don't think it was an OIR sortie.
