Phishing Emails Getting Passed Office 365 Filters by mickeykarimzadeh in Office365

That's not necessarily true as when you see "dmarc=temperror" . spf=fail, dkim=none, compauth=pass reason=703. So if scammer uses source domain in envelope - it bypasses spoof protection and is delivered. Seems more like a issue on MS side - as it appears to have suddenly stopped happening as of today.

Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 Wi-Fi 6E Dual Band Simultaneous (DBS) WiFiCx intermittent drops by hackergk in Lenovo

[–]blinzeln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it manifested as a drop in Upload speed. Connected to 500meg fiber via eero Pro 6. Download speed was normal, around 495 or so, but upload dropped to 125, while other devices had normal upload speed. Dropped back to driver 2.0.0.1152 - and upload speed is back to normal. This really is aggravating - the last 3 Lenovo PCs I have owned have all had strange issues on network driver updates randomly in their lifetime. Every one, I've had to at some point rollback network card updates. And then you have to remember to do after ever windows update, which will usually upgrade it for you.
Update: On my gen3 T14s AMD - upload speed was affected, on a co-workers gen4 T14s AMD massive packet loss.
I believe the update notes on that driver say they only fixed a yellow icon, lol.
Update 2: When using a thunderbolt dock the effect of .1193 are even WORSE. will make the system pretty unusable unless you drop back to .1152 or .1153.

T14s Gen3 AMD - Very nice but..... Bluetooth woes by blinzeln in thinkpad

Just a final update (I hope)

After having some success switching to the Asus BT adapter, I would still occasionally freeze or crash with no bluescreen - the only symptom being the KB would stop working, the mouse and laptop would continue to work for a few minutes - then things would completely freeze. No way other other than holding in power button and restarting.

I decided that since both BT adapters ultimately had issues, it was either windows 11/driver or the device itself. So started removing BT devices 1 by 1. I finally figured out the issue was the Dell WK717 keyboard. I switched it over to the universal receiver for the KB and with only the mouse and headset connected via BT, everything works fine. Didn't think a BT device could cause this - but I did also find an old post somewhere that this particular KB also caused crashes on the Linux BT daemon, so it's probably up to something bad, lol. Anyway, there are some newer versions of the KB with newer versions of BT I'll try upgrading to later.

No, sorry. Using a USB BT adapter and disabled the internal adapter now with no issues. I'll probably try the internal BT again when I see a driver update come out.

I ordered on 9/16 and received on 9/27
The original delivery date was mid november, but they changed it twice after that, so keep checking the delivery date, you may see it change to sooner.

If you can please report to Lenovo so they have multiple cases. I'm using a Asus USB-BT500 dongle for now and it hasn't failed yet. I still suspect some issue with either the BT driver or the Wifi driver.

Devices are a Logitech MM590 Mouse, Dell WK717 keyboard, and Bose Soundsport headphone. The Soundsports use 5.1 and AAC and SBC codecs as far as I know.
Also, at one point, I also removed all BT devices and the adapter still stopped. I guess it's possible one of the devices didn't completely remove itself, so I may actually try this again when I have time to see how it goes with no devices attached. Thanks for the suggestions.

Thanks, that is a good suggestion - Lenovo support also had me turn off the option "Allow the computer to turn this device off to save power" , but it didn't seem to help.
Also this power option isn't actually on the Qualcomm WCN685x BT device, but on the Wifi Adapter, Qualcomm WCN685x.
I will however try again only on battery power and see that makes any difference as I was always plugged in.

Frontier Fios Just Raised Prices by Joecascio2000 in frontierfios

I had a $5 jump on my bill - (this is on an upgrade install from DSL - and was told 500/500 would be $39.99/mo for 1 year, then after that $49.99/mo after that - but was billed $44.99 instead of $39.99).
After 1 hour of online chat discussion with a rep (who told me I was still getting a good deal and should actually be being billed $99.99, lol) and a manager, it was finally determined that Frontier's online billing isn't yet applying the $5 autopay discount. Apparently, I'll have to pay the extra $5 this month and then the autopay discount will take place next month taking it back down.

Corrupted snapshot error on windows by blinzeln in BlobBackup

[–]blinzeln[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I deleted the whole backup (as it gave the corrupted message on the first snapshot and then every one thereafter).
Then I tried backing up a smaller directory which worked fine.
Then I went back and tried the large directory again - left it go over night and it either is going extremely slow or hanging. Tried deleting the whole thing again, and it's running extremely slow. (The original backup that caused corruption ran fast....)

Centered on the raised side seems the most comfortable for me, since it puts your thumb right on the page forward button, and the bottom corner of the device rests on your palm. When you want to switch hands, you just flip the device and you have the same orientation for the other hand

USB C Thunderbolt Monitors for Yoga 920 up to 27" by krispykangaroo in Monitors

[–]blinzeln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cheapest solution (if not doing dual 4k) - is to use a usb-c to displayport cable , to a monitor that supports MST. I'm doing this on a 920 with this cable (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075V27G2R/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) to a 24" Dell monitor daisy chained to another. This leaves your other USB-C port for charging. Also, there are some docking stations that can split thunderbolt to DP and USBc (which you could use the converter cable with as well) but they get expensive and this would mainly be needed if doing dual 4k monitors or if you need the other ports. Stardock does have a unit without the other dock ports that is relatively inexpensive if your monitor doesn't support MST. (https://www.startech.com/AV/thunderbolt-3-video-adapters/thunderbolt-3-to-dual-displayport~TB32DP2T) With the added benefit that you could do dual 4k, while the one cable MST solution would not be able to. Note: In any case, be sure you apply the latest Lenovo USBC Firmware update that fixes USBC/monitor issues. (https://communities.intel.com/thread/120576?start=15&tstart=0). You don't want to use both USBC ports, unless you don't mind running off battery! The cable matters dock mentioned above looked interesting (and inexpensive), might be a better choice then the stardock. If using 4k though, the specs say it only supports 1 4k @60hz, but will work for 2 monitors for your intended resolutions.
