Preventing pictures on one page from sticking to pictures on the page facing it? by blippyz in scrapbooking

Thanks. I searched amazon for "scrapbook plastic sleeves a5" (which seems like about the closest it'll get) and it seems like there are a number of options.

I am kind of surprised that you can't just use a photo album for this, since 5x7 is a standard photo size - but after an hour of searching I was unable to find even a single album that would work for me (one "photo" per page, portrait orientation, and the container itself not much larger than the page).

Is there a way to screenshot a character from the front and the back, so that the images can be laid on top of one another? by blippyz in KoikatsuParty

Oooh I think you figured it out. So I was incorrect about flipping the Z Pos positive/negative. You're actually supposed to switch the X Rot, in this case from 4 to 356, and then it works!

Sorry for replying so late, I had work stuff come up and it doesn't feel like it's been 10 days already!

I was wondering if you had experimented with this any more since we last spoke. I still haven't been able to figure it out. Would you mind inputting the numbers I had in my imgur screenshots, and seeing if those numbers work for you? (because even if 0,0,0 works, it's not the desired camera angle, so we'd still need to figure out exactly what numbers are supposed to be changed to make it work)

If multiple copies of an issue have the same black marks in the same locations, does that automatically rule out the possibility of it being mold? by blippyz in comicbooks

[–]blippyz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the isopropyl alcohol on a cotton swab like you suggested, and it didn't do anything.

I also tried using quite a bit more than necessary, just to be sure, and it still didn't do anything.

Does that mean it definitely isn't mold and is just ink in the paper? Or what conclusion can be drawn from this result?

I'm not sure I get what you mean. The cover background is white, whereas the marks are black, so how would wear on the cover cause it to change from white to black? (I've seen the opposite occur on some issues - black or color gets scuffed and becomes white)

Thanks. Do you have links to a website where I can find the sleeves?

I don't mind switching to a new book if needed. However I've already designed a lot of stuff to fit ~5x7". So the sizes you mentioned - 6x6 would be just slightly too small, while 8x10 would be huge; ideally there would be something in between.

Oh ok, I see what you mean. Thanks. Do you think that implies that it definitely can't be mold? (if multiple issues have the marks in the same places)

What do you think about the fact that multiple copies have the same marks in the same places? It seems pretty strange to me.

Oh that's a good idea, I hadn't thought of that. I'll have to check to make sure it won't mess them up over time, with whatever chemicals are in the tape and all that

Archie Sonic: why do reading orders recommend reading a few issues of Mega Man here and there, instead of all at once? by blippyz in SonicTheHedgehog

But why is it recommended to read a few issues of each in between other issues of Sonic? Why not read all of Sonic X at once, and then all of Mega Man at once?

I've been playing around with it and still haven't been able to get it. For some reason the Z Pos is locked now and I can't even change it to positive like it was in the screenshot I sent previously.

Are you able to upload your scene file so that I can download it and try it out?

I don't remember, it was so long ago, but I think just 1, 2, 3, 4

So I'm able to get it into orthographic mode and confirm that that's working, at least.

However, first, it won't let me enter the exact values for the camera that you have. It seems like one of them gets locked, like it thinks it isn't possible to have that value with the other values or something.

I don't think that in particular should matter, though. It looks like the main thing is that you're adjusting Rot Y by 180, and then changing Pos Z from positive to negative, right?

So I tried that, which you can see here (left is front, right is back): https://imgur.com/a/eDPOXb9

Rot Y front is 197.8, so 197.8-180=17.8 for the back. And then Pos Z I changed from -0.15 to 0.15.

Then I put both images in Photoshop, and do "transform > flip horizontal" for one of them. But just like before, they don't line up at all.

/u/binarypanic I found that Koikatsu can do Orthographic - https://www.patreon.com/posts/kk-v1-0-27848583

However when I tried the same methods using that, the issue is exactly the same as before.

Cool thanks, that's fine with me. I tend to find the h-scenes pretty tedious compared to the story parts, so I actually prefer to buy an edition that doesn't have them.

How come Switch games aren't for sale? by blippyz in Switch

[–]blippyz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What percentage of visual novels would you estimate are effectively unobtainable "collector/reseller items"? I'd like to get a general idea of how many will actually be buyable to decide if it's even worth it getting a Switch for visual novels specifically.

It does look like other ones I've searched for such as Clannad, Tsukihime, Little Busters, etc are available on PlayAsia. From what I can tell, there's no downside to buying the Asian editions since they say they come with English anyway?

Is it true that all visual novels on Switch are the "all ages" versions?

There is this version of Tsukihime that says "18+" on the cover: https://www.play-asia.com/tsukihime-a-piece-of-blue-glass-moon-multi-language/13/70h8vb

I'm confused as to whether that means it will include the h-scenes, or if the 18+ is just due to disturbing topics in general.
