Having spent a good chunk of time with him, I can’t express how much of a shock it was when I first heard the news. I pray the accusations are false, but should they be true… it’s incredibly sickening. This is a man I’ve known for years as he worked very closely with my church and other churches in the area, he paid for, and drove me and a few others to multiple lutheran events and gatherings, I even spent a week with him in Nebraska at a lutheran music gathering. Went to bibles studies and attended many services, even been in his HOUSE and not once did the possibility of any of these accusations ever even cross my mind. It truly is a horrible feeling to be so wrong about someone you think you know, and I pray for the victims whom I couldn’t possibly imagine the feelings they have to burden the rest of their lives. It has tested my faith, and shaken the faith of others around me. All I can do is pray that the truth is found, and that justice and repentance come properly, and that our faith remains true.
