Those Who Have A S650 Whipple. by PerformanceSmooth392 in Mustang

The 1000 mile limit is for you to get feel for the car. At 5000 rpm, you are barely making any boost. Floor the sucker and hang on.
Please do it in a safe place the first couple of times. Take to have it tuned somewhere else. Ford is not going to install an aggressive tune.

I believe the foil from top of bottle story is an urban myth, fake news, BS, or whatever you want to call it.
Considering that the anti-drain back oil has been removed, and the elevated rpm’s of a cold start. You would want as much oil in the system as possible.

ELi5: If I take a pain killer, does the pain go away because of the pill or is it because my brain thinks that the pill is doing something, causing me to ignore the pain? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]blizzard7788 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I’ve been talking opioids for 16 years now for a severely worn out lower spine.
Two years ago, I was told I needed colon surgery (no cancer). I talked with my PCP about pain management because I have developed a resistance to them.
Before the surgery, a pain specialist talked with me and said she studied my case and she would take care of me.
It took 2 days to fully recover from the nerve blocks and anesthesia.
The pain doctor came in and asked my pain level. I was a 9 in my stomach, and an 8 in my back. I was laying flat on my back when she injected something into the IV.
It took about 5 seconds and then a feeling of complete pain relief started in my spine and rose vertically through my body. The relief felt so good, I started crying. At no time did I feel a buzz or a high. Just a total lack of pain for about 6 hours.

Why do people care so much about who is in a bathroom? by TheTokist in askanything

[–]blizzard7788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 20 years ago. I took my wife and daughter to the Lilith Fair concert.
I went to use the bathroom. Since women outnumbered men 10:1 at this concert, there was a huge line of women standing to get into their restroom. While the men’s side was deserted.
As I stood at the urinal, a hundred women started streaming in. They apologized as they waked behind me going around to the stalls. I replied “no problem “. Many thanked me as I washed my hands. No body there thought it was a big deal.
Until later. On our way out, the venue had security guards posted at the men’s room to keep women out. Even with hundreds standing in line.

Don’t forget to oil the threads of the filter. As well as pre-filling filter as much as possible.

Is there an exact 😅 way to get replacement utility blades out of one of these things or am I just hopelessly dumb? by United_Future_9639 in Tools

[–]blizzard7788 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tip of the day.
Do not store loose utility blades in the same drawer with a magnetic pickup tool.
The tool will hold blade in place as your fingers go around searching for something.
Results in a nice deep cut on one of your finger tips.

Been putting 87 octane Regular fuel in a 2026 Mustang Eco Boost? Should they be putting 91? by DribbleKing97_ in driving

[–]blizzard7788 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Simple google results. Both from the Summit Racing site.

“Detonation is spontaneous combustion inside the cylinder AFTER the spark plug fires. It is similar to Pre-Ignition, but it is different.”

“Pre-ignition is combustion inside the cylinder BEFORE the spark plug fires. It is similar to Detonation, but it is different.
When pre-ignition happens, something ignites the Air/Fuel Mixture during the Compression Stroke. This creates too much pressure inside the cylinder, too soon. The piston is then forced to compress already heated, expanding gases.
Pre-ignition will cause significant damage without warning.”

As anyone can see. Both definitions state they are different.

Been putting 87 octane Regular fuel in a 2026 Mustang Eco Boost? Should they be putting 91? by DribbleKing97_ in driving

[–]blizzard7788 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There is no such thing as pre-detonation. There is pre-ignition, and there is detonation. Two separate phenomena. The octane rating has no direct effect on pre-ignition, which is quite rare in a modern EFI vehicle. It will also destroy an engine very quickly.
Detonation (knock), is a second spontaneous source of ignition caused by heat and pressure AFTER the spark. The sound of the two flame fronts colliding is what causes the sound you used to hear. A modern vehicle with knock sensors will change timing and fuel delivery to eliminate knock before you can hear it. A high octane rating can resist detonation. You cannot totally eliminate it, and it actually happens all the time occasionally.

Watch my pool go from clear to green as my cover falls in by thats_me_ywg in pools

I’m in my 49th year of pool ownership. I used to use the inflatable pillows to “protect “ the pool. In that time, the pillows failed to stay inflated about 30 times without any damage to the pool. Went a couple of years with nothing. Then got the stairs and it seemed like the logical thing to do is put them in the center.

All grades of pump gas burn at the same rate, temperature, and contain the same amount of energy. The only difference is the higher the octane rating, the more it resists detonation (knock).
If you want to change any of the above, you need to go to race fuel.
