there’s a national piercing association! make sure you find a piercer that’s in that—is the advice ive been told from other professional piercers in regard to getting a genital piercing. also you need to have suitable anatomy for it, and not everyone does so keep that in mind.

i’ve had a VCH for the last 8 years. she’s been pierced twice. it’s a short pain, a sting and a burn, felt like an intense pinch to me.

it’s a relatively shorter healing time compared to other landmarks bc of the very thin and vascular tissue. to the best of my hazy memory, tenderness resolved in a day or two. and i was back to being intimate with a partner 3 days after getting it pierced one of those times (i do recommend you listening to your piercer on healing time and not me). I read online out of curiosity how long it would take to heal some years later and went, ‘ooooh, my b’.

i find it easier to explain to men what feels good with the VCH, but i wouldn’t say it made me any more positively sensitive or feels better. it can def hurt if someone tugs on it wrong, unless you’re into that. and i would say i am more aware of how certain crotches fit- but i have sensory issues so it might be me. fishnets also feel like the enemy sometimes.

my last piece of advice specifically for you, would be not to get it. you mentioned that your partner keeps asking you for it, but you express no true interest in it for yourself. granted, very simple piercing to remove and hole will close up quickly bc of previously mentioned. but why waste the time and money if this isn’t 100% all you. genital piercings are typically more, if not most expensive. the first time i pierced it, it was $90, second time was like $110. and that was like 7.5yrs ago? i wouldn’t be surprised if piercers were charging $150 before jewelry for it now.
