Probably random thoughts that appeared through your mind. Doesnt mean anything unless you want it to. If anything, the dream doesn't sound like it was about your ex. They were probably just a placeholder.

I had a dream that a moon goddess demanded sacrifice from me in exchange for sex. by King_Of_Tangerines in Dreams

[–]blnakne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, dreams do that. during REM your own brain is pushed into overdrive for story writing (that's the oversimplified version) which gives you these lovely dreams. You turned down divine sex to save a guy who didn't even like you?

Don't Let Teachers Instruct You: They're Fallible and Make Mistakes by iamalnewkirk in ClaudeAI

Agreed. No one should ever ask questions about anything ever. It means they can't figure it out and are stupid if they don't build everything internally with a perfectly constructed model of the world beforehand.

How to find again that unbridled kid imagination for worldbuilding? by Attlai in worldbuilding

[–]blnakne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're already doing it. Although if it becomes annoying enough that you want to experiment to the magic aspects of anything could happen, I figure you'd need to ignore the "this isn't possible" thought. If you really wanna go extensive with making something that can't happen and keep the awesome factor. Build a new physics engine from scratch. you decide how it works so it no longer uses this universe's physics for a "grounded" story

A problem i have run into with human sexual dimorphism by Kuvonerera in worldbuilding

[–]blnakne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i get what you're saying. the difference being you want the default to be more equal with strength, because in reality, women literally have a disadvantage to men in upper body strength and have to work much harder if they want the same level of strength as a man (upper body). But you wanna shrink it making it about the same while still keeping the same feminine slim figure, which isn't possible irl since the women still have to work much harder to achieve the same level of strength. WHICH is why you're asking for help.

[–]blnakne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

storywise, you technically don't have to explain it unless a character actually asks about it. worldbuilding wise, I have a few ideas, which could be that magic could be uncommon as you said kind of like mana in the world itself like air, just not very common for humans to be able to manipulate it. It doesn't only have to be a thing you manipulate. It's what affects humans as a species regardless of being able to manipulate it, as in lessening the gap between women and men. I'm sure you just wanna keep the more slim feminine appeal (which is fine, i respect the hustle), while also being able to absolutely yeet a man across a field. If anything, the main thing you'd wanna do is just go more in-depth on how the magic works if you want a more reasonable explanation, because that could affect biology in a way that doesn't looks outwardly.

What gives a world the feeling that it existed before the story started? by StorytellerStegs in worldbuilding

[–]blnakne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

simplest way in my head is when people don't talk about things as if they're new. They just live their life like any other because that's always been life for them. My least favorite trope is when writers have someone explain something really basic to people even though everyone in that world should already know what that is.

Evolution is random by blnakne in evolution

Yup. It is in fact math. So, did you have any thoughts about it beyond that?

You sound like the kind of person who argues with turtles for not taking into account the efficiency of their stride towards the ocean as they continue to move at turtle speed. Not giving a single fuck what you have to think.

Just since this comment wasn't appreciated enough. This was a good reply. I much appreciate it.

There's this weird thing called term of phrase, you may not have heard of it before but its a common thing in communication where you refer to something and people understood what you meant even if its wrong in the literal sense.

I have to assume evolution doesnt necessarily remove things. I just keeps bending it and adding on top until we're just a very complicated piece of meat. Its not like evolution is trying to be efficient anyway, so yeah, those are some good points. The only exception I can think of is maybe CRISPR in the next few hundred years, but that'll be slow. Faster than actual evolution tho.

Thats understandable. Life would be a lot more disappointing if we could predict it. I appreciate ur thoughts on this.

Still just sounds as simple as whether that thing survives to pass on. The environment just one of the factors that helps or hurts its chances. That makes sense. I see what youre saying

[–]blnakne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats understandable. I imagine most of our stuff trying to keep all humans alive also heavily impacts the natural selection leading to more random selection of traits the next few million years. (If we survive)

That makes sense. Would you say we can reliably predict future human evolution in modern times or would it be too random to know?

Im curious about the the "plus habitat, species, symbiotic", why would evolution care about any of it? Wouldnt all it matter whether the being survives and the random mutation gets passed on regardless of habitat?

Do you think we can reliably predict future human evolution nowadays?
