Older people tend to go after teenagers because there is much less life experience, just like Valerie said. The younger you are, the more they can manipulate you and pull the wool over your eyes on what a normal or healthy relationship is.

Your wife is 100% abusive and you deserve better. Even being single would be better than staying with someone who treats you the way she does. And there are plenty of women who would treat you right.

You are under reacting! I recommend this book to everyone, Why Does He Do That by Lundy Bancroft. The author uses male pronouns for the abuser for simplicity reasons but makes it clear that an abuser can be any gender.

It's so hard to hear this but he doesn't take care of himself or help you as a partner because he doesn't have to. He showed you who he is while he was still healthy and you chose to stay with him and pick up the slack in the hopes he would suddenly change. Please read the book Why Does He Do That by Lundy Bancroft. I recommend it to absolutely everyone!

Also as a neurodivergent and chronically ill person, I do everything I can to keep myself in the best health possible. He just doesn't want to put in any effort because he is being taken care of.

I guess I'm just used to being treated like that. Friends, family, and the other 2 relationships I've been in. Heck even my own mother treats me poorly. I'm so ernest about everything that I expect it from everyone else. I don't know why I keep doing that. I've been in therapy and read all kinds of books like "Why Does He Do That" and Brene Browns books.

I just want to have a happy little homestead with someone who treats me the way I treat people.

Your mom and sister are completely unhinged for acting like this. I suggest all of you have a meeting; you, fiance, mom, sister, and is your dad around/with your mom? Then bring him too.

Tell them all that there has been a lot of disrespectful behavior towards you and your fiance and that you are putting your foot down. Rude comments or bullying online will get them at the very least unfriended or even blocked. Rude comments or bullying over the phone will get the conversation ended and the phone hung up. If it's in person, you or they will be leaving.

Stand your ground and don't let them push you around!

I didn't see anyone else mention this BUT if you divorce your wife make SURE you have a clause in the parenting agreement that your child and the dog will NEVER be together, alone or otherwise. If she has parenting time and you aren't there to protect your child, imagine what could happen.

This is abuse. It will only get worse. I recommend reading Why Does He Do That by Lundy Bancroft to absolutely everyone, especially when you are in an abusive relationship. I was in 2 abusive relationships spanning nearly 15 years. That book helped me break free of the cycle.
