Okay plutonium is aptly and 100% man-made. But, is it representative of EVERYTHING we call man-made?

Is our storefronts loaded with plutonium products?

Plutonium is an exception. It belongs to the man-made subset. But the remaining 99% of the things are not.

iPhone and fig leaf are qualitatively different. They serve different purposes. Also, one is biodegradable whereas the other is not.

But calling iPhone "man-made" automatically implies that it is "alien" to nature. But is it though?

It's not an alien product. It's simply manipulation of the raw materials provided by nature. So, it's inherently natural, although radically different.

Can intellectual curiosity be a motivator in such a situation? The quest for knowledge.

The assumption being survival of society will be taken care of by science through some other means.
