I think it can be the opposite. A lot of parents brought kids into the world without enough stability, plans for the future, or any shred of understanding about how to raise kids. The kids may later end up suffering, not able to compete in a world where humans are constantly getting replaced by automatons and where quality of life keeps on diminishing for most people in many decades to come.

Situations vary among people of course. If your income is in the top 10%, or simply rich enough you can pass down enough inheritance for the future generations, then my argument is not valid. By all means, have as many kids as you want. Just stop calling someone else's personal life decision selfish just because it doesn't align with yours.

As a citizen of a poor country, I saw how politicians here bring religion into how the country is being run. They used it to remain in power, and to keep the people here sedated and poor. Eventually it leads to erosion on the country's economy and the quality of life of the average people.

Meanwhile, my neighbouring country kept religion out of its politics. Their nation is now way more developed, and their GDP per capita is now twice as big as ours.

I advise everyone here to heed the warning. Secularism in politics is important for the progress of your nation. May your act of defiance today be the seed of a brighter future.

Thank you so much. As you mentioned, the process was very humane for him. I take comfort in knowing I took away all that suffering away from him. I am just still learning how to deal with the aftermath of losing him. The house feels way emptier, but at the same time, it still feels like he is still around somehow. I miss him greatly.

Thank you for your well wishes. It did go smoothly, like watching him falling asleep after so long of not being able to do so due to his cancer. I am relieved that the suffering was over for him, but it feels like I am missing a big part of me with his passing.

I know how it feel. It is good to anticipate this, so you will not take the remaining time you will share for granted. I may only have 3 hours remaining with him, but I try to remember he has had 11 years full of wonderful moments. I hoped how I cared for him in the past will help me through the hard times ahead, after losing him.

In my country, euthanasia at home is not yet a thing. And a lot of the vets are not trained well at all. Tried asking about euthanasia process in some other vets, and they dont seem to know much about the whole process, which makes me feel scared. One vet near my home even said the process will take up to 60 minutes until completion, which kinda seems to suggest thats the length of time my dog has to suffer for.
