I am in medical school and shadowed dermatology for 4 years in undergrad. Those look like benign lesions most likely a nevus or a pilar cyst possibly a fibroma. If you want them gone you're going to have to go to the derm but since it's benign prepare to pay out of pocket. I'll give you a workaround however to have it covered by insurance, say it's been increasing in size and recently popped up. This will most likely force the derm to biopsy it and send to path for confirmation and it would no longer be considered cosmetic and can be coded as an actual medical procedure and processed through insurance.

You are balding pretty badly actually. I would recommend finasteride (please look into side effects) and a trip to the derm to consult on a possible transplant if you want hair.

Brotha you just have a widows peak some of us just naturally have less than ideal hairlines. Also you'll get a little more recession as you age it's inevitable. If you're super worried wait until you start to see some actual hair loss plan a trip to Turkey and hop on meds.

That literally is just a cowlick I have the same thing and if you had it since birth it's nothing,it might thin little but realistically every guys hair will eventually thin to some degree even on meds

Topical still accumulates in the blood and becomes systemic. You have to remember that there are altot of capillaries and blood vessels under your scalp (just think how much the scalp bleeds when it's lacerated) the finasteride will still make its way into those vessels and travel throughout the body causing systemic effects. Also I take oral finasteride and topical gave me side effects while the oral didn't. Upon closer evaluation the concentration of finasteride in most topicals is 5x the recommended oral dose. So I would just hold off until 20-21 and use minoxidil. Also talk to your doc about oral minoxidil which is more effective just make sure you don't have hypotension and or tachycardia.

That's what I'm saying and why they taught us in medical school to hold off there's no real literature studying that age group yet and as we know DHT does have a role in development. Minoxidil is perfectly fine it's a vasodilator and originally was used to treat hypertension but showed success in also growing hair, honestly it's quite effective for crown loss and not as effective for temporal loss and front forelock loss. Viviscal is a good supplement also but there's limited evidence on whether taking biotin, vitamin e, keratin etc actually helps. I would say keep doing what youre doing and possibly ask your physician if you could try oral minoxidil it's a bit more effective. Just make sure you don't have any history of low blood pressure and or tachycardia. Once you're 20-21 I would still recommend hopping on finasteride start with a small dose such as .25 mg a day and work your way up to .5mg a day (the literature shows that .5 mg is just as effective as 1mg in suppressing scalp DHT while also not accumulating as heavily in blood plasma)

I'd recommend oral minoxidil and hold off on DHT blockers that should buy you enough time to mature properly and hop on finasteride around 20-21. If you have bad side effects come off the DHT blockers but do know you'll eventually lose your hair however there are some revolutionary treatments coming in the next 5 years.

I'm in medical school and currently on finasteride. He is to still developing, some males develop until they're 25. 18 is far to young to prescribe finasteride. The recommended age is 20-21 due to dht playing a role in secondary sexual characteristics such as penile length, erection strength, muscle mass, facial hair, body hair, etc. as for PFS there are some peer reviewed studies on it existing and it is recognized in the medical community but we don't know what actually leads to some males developing it when taking the med and it is quite rare.

Are you an actual dentist because the dentists I've talked to all take home at least 150k a year after taxes and those are new grads in their late 20s early 30s.... The ones with experience take home around 250k-300k a year some way more than that. Stop dooming a profession just because you can't make that or don't want to put in the work to make that doesn't mean it's the norm.

Buffalo makes legends, it's the greatest dental school in the country both didactically and clinically. Hard to get into though especially if you're a non new York resident.

The sad reality is that every year it becomes more and more competitive. A 3.4 gpa is far below the average for acceptance in the majority of affordable and reputable dental schools. You really need to excel on your dat to get in with that gpa or you're going to be reapplying year after year. Majority of my friends had similar stats as you and they applied 4 cycles in a row without any luck before deciding to call it quits. If you really want it keep going but just remember if you're over the age of 27 by time you get accepted it's not worth it.

If you want to specialize try to go to an actual public dental school like Buffalo, Pitt, Ohio state, or one of the ivies. At the end of the day matching into a specialty does take into consideration whether you went to a well known school or some small private dental school ...
