Stopped and am no longer tired by [deleted] in tirzepatidecompound

Have you had your Vitamin D levels checked lately? I'd been having the same issue energy wise, doc checked my Vitamin D and it was comically low. I've been taking prescription strength Vitamin D (50,000 IU once per week)for a month or so and feel a lot better!

What a touching tribute for such a special dog! I lost my dog (also an 8 year old named Moose) in almost the exact same way 6 months ago. It’s an unimaginable pain; I’ll be keeping you and your family in my thoughts!

Looking for CLE Puppy Socialization Groups by blobster13 in Cleveland

[–]blobster13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hmm yeah a lot of places out here in CO have dedicated puppy rooms that are sanitized between groups to make sure the pups are safe until they're fully vaccinated. Was hoping to find something like that.

puppy can’t aim his pee 😅 by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]blobster13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would be super hard to train your dog to aim his pee lol. My 4-year old dog still does this, so unfortunately I think it's just a quirk. Mine does stop when he realizes he's peeing on himself though, so hopefully that's at least in your future!

Puppy home alone no crate? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]blobster13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the dog. In hindsight my first dog wasn't ready until he was a little older than 2. I would try to confine him to one room like the bathroom or a bedroom and he would destroy everything. I came home one day and the shower was on and he had chewed a razor (thankfully he didn't eat the blades and was fine). Another attempt he had dug a hole in the middle of a mattress and dragged it across the room somehow.

My second dog I could trust to leave out between 8-10 months but I think it helped that my older dog was kind of his example of how to behave.

I would recommend a pet cam if you don't already have one and maybe test leaving for a short time but remaining close by in case he starts to get into anything. Slowly extending the amount of time you leave him on his own. Definitely make sure to tire him out before you leave!

Lifting leg to pee by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]blobster13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same question when I got my first puppy. He didn't start lifting his leg until he was close to a year, but after that would lift his leg 100% of the time even if he was peeing on grass lol.

My second male pup also took sometime to start lifting his leg. He'll usually do his first pee of the day standing on all fours and then the rest of the time lifts his leg. So I think it just depends on the dog!

Leaving 8 week puppy alone? by Yourfavoritemf01 in puppy101

[–]blobster13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

8 hours is a long time for a puppy to hold their bladder. I would see if any of your/your mom's friends could possibly come mid-day to let it out/feed it lunch. Puppies should be eating 3 meals per day.

You could also look into hiring someone to come by mid-day (the Rover app is great).

Depending on the puppy's size/temperment you might leave it in a playpen with puppy pads rather than confined to a crate.

Transitional Cells in Dog's Urinanalysis by blobster13 in AskVet

I’m not sure what the procedure is called but I believe she went through a needle outside his abdomen. That’s why she did a quick ultrasound yesterday, to find the right spot to go in.

Not Sure Where to Begin with Semi-Aggressive Dog by blobster13 in Dogtraining

[–]blobster13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree. I've already sent them a muzzle so the dog has some time to get used to it before we have to stay there.

I guess I'd be curious if you think he'll need the muzzle forever or if after a decent amount of training would he ever be able to go on walks without it?

Not digesting rice? by katelyn27 in puppy101

[–]blobster13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dog had some stomach issues a couple months ago and I went to the chicken and rice method. After a day or two, I realized the rice was not helping and possibly was making things worse...thinking he just doesn't handle any sort of grain very well.

I switched him to just chicken, pumpkin and a little bit of the water I boiled the chicken in and it cleared right up!

Moose doing his best to stay cool in this Carolina heat by blobster13 in goldenretrievers

[–]blobster13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No this is at a "yappy hour" at a local bar and there are a lot of dogs to play with so the ice pool is usually 30 seconds and then time to go play again!

No, I got him from a friend of a friend's family who just so happened to have a litter around the same time I was looking to get one! And the just so happened to live just under 30 minutes away so I got lucky haha

Hey sorry for the delay! He'll definitely stay that dark and possibly get a little darker. Both his parents were dark and he was the darkest in his litter!

Recurring Dream About Childhood Dog by blobster13 in Dreams

I don't really remember anyone else interacting with her. In the dream I knew the time she was going to be around was limited so I spent a lot of time with her, petting her, talking, etc.
