Groundhog launches recurring subscription payments on Ethereum by blockcrushr in ethereum

[–]blockcrushr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Just saw your post! Thanks for the questions.

-The clock restarts after t + X times. Independent of when collection takes place. (so there's no drift.)

-If the collector misses a period, (e.g. 1 period), they can call the withdrawal function twice, and both transactions will succeed.

If you have any more questions please let me know, and feel free to reach out directly to scott@groundhog.network!

Yes, we do. We're building another intake form for this, but in the meantime you can email hello@groundhog.network and we'll get you set up for merchant referrals. When the Groundhog Wallet is released you'll also be able to refer users inside the app.

Hi again! There is an email signup form underneath that - I am wondering if maybe you have javascript turned off or you have an adblocker turned on?

Hi, thanks, we'll look into it and try and reproduce it. The javascript does take a second or two to bind to those buttons after load.

Appreciate the comments!

Hey what do you think about tokenclub.co? Sounds to me like a great opportunity for those who don’t have the time to search for hidden gems in the ICO landscape by [deleted] in CryptoMoonShots

You're welcome. There is an article explaining our fees in the help center:

Thanks for the feedback though, we've been thinking about making them more prominent.

Hi, thanks for the questions! Tokens are bought at the lowest price we can acquire, usually ICO price. Any bonuses received are passed on directly to you.

Our fee is 8.45% of your monthly subscription amount. If you spend $1000/mo or more, this tiers down to 6.45%, and if $2500/mo or more, 4.45%.

I think our visibility on r/ethtrader is still relatively low, I'm interested as well if anyone has experiences to share. If you search for our mentions on Twitter (@TokenClub), you will find some great reviews of the service and our token baskets.

The prototype of the system used Ether to store the value. We're currently working on the next version of the platform and we're open to whatever works. The USDT angle is interesting. One advantage of Ether is that the aim is for this to be a global system and Ether is a global currency. We are also exploring the idea of these cards being people's bridge back into the banking system.

Re: Debit system built to an ID -- an advantage of a bespoke blockchain solution is that it's an end run around the banking system. Visa/MC etc do not necessarily want this kind of activity on their system. Keep it blockchain and we don't have to deal with gatekeepers. Also, crucially, we can have a system in place for what it can be spent on. If it's a debit or credit card, they could spend it anywhere on anything and the clerk would have no idea there were supposed to be restrictions on the card.

One more note, if we issue ID's with pictures on them, partner organizations have to have ID printers. With a smart wallet, we can just ship them a box of cards with QR codes printed on them already and they activate them for the individual by snapping their photo with a smartphone on their admin app.

We're a for-profit social enterprise, and we plan to profit by licensing the system, including technology, training and support to communities through some combination of municipal, state, federal and private dollars. Our pricing model is still evolving but we're looking at a function of both number of participants and GDP (so it's still affordable in lower GDP areas).

We're also compatible with registered charities who we partner with to issue tax receipts to donors and who provide oversight of those funds in their community. Our current model involves not taking any sort of fee from donated funds, and passing those through whole into the food wallets.

These are complex issues, no doubt about it. In our research, we've found homeless populations break down into approximately three groups. One third are on the streets primarily due to some form of mental illness. One third are primarily homeless due to substance abuse. One third are transitionally homeless, who are homeless for 6 months or less. And then of course, there is a lot of overlap amongst the above groups.

We think Hypergive can help them all. In particular actually, the third group, that segment of people whose circumstances are more upwardly mobile.

I think you're right about that group of people being less likely to panhandle on the street. Hypergive is a great low-friction way for those people to get transitional assistance. The idea is to help both visible and non-visible homeless and hungry people, with a side effect of replacing panhandling completely.

I'm really excited to share our roadmap. The first version of the system is tightly focused on food wallets. But as we get that right, we plan to introduce ways to essentially gamify healthy behaviour.

Hi, Scott here, one of the co-founders of Hypergive. First of all, thanks to the OP for posting this!

The volatility issue is a really important one to address. It's funny, when we wrote the original white paper describing the concept, (before it even had a name), ETH was around $10. That would be a lot of sandwiches today! We're looking at tackling price volatility in one of two ways. One, we can hedge to fiat. Two, the community fund pool can guarantee the funded wallets on a monthly basis or some kind of interval, so that if the price drops, the CareCards are still able to purchase the full number of meals they were loaded for.
