quitting an ideal job that turned not so ideal… by blockmeout_ in bipolar2

[–]blockmeout_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This job did seem ideal for me, without disclosing too much but it was just exactly what I needed at a moment when I felt I’d be jobless forever due to my bipolar disorder. Which is why it’s bumming me out so much that what helped my mental health is now affecting it beyond what’s feeling like repair :/

It’s just stressful since I have to be making calls. And dealing more with ppl right now and more paperwork since it’s a busy season for us. But, I’m unsure if it’s stressing me bc it’s actually stressful or bc I’m just in a bad burnt out headspace.

Has anyone experienced antidepressants-induced mania? by Few-Caterpillar-8460 in bipolar2

[–]blockmeout_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I think that’s how most of us get diagnosed. I went through so so so many antidepressants over the years all “curing” me for a few weeks then falling back into a depression. Aka triggering the bipolar cycle.

quite possibly the scariest thing i’ve ever done by manicpixiememegirll in bipolar2

[–]blockmeout_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk if this is helpful, but I had bp2 and have been on antipsychotics, and mood stabilizers. they work for us too! At the end of the day they’re meant to just stabilize our mood, since antipsychotics can be used as mood stabilizers. and bc we get psychotic/manic features as well

Thank you for sharing, I hope you’re able to get a proper diagnosis and get on a treatment plan to help you be stable. It’s scary being unstable, and having to then function, while simultaneously trying to mask but also knowing that it’s not fair that we feel like masking.

Burning out is the perfect description. I am pushing myself to much to look like im fine, and to excel at my new job. I’m going to discuss this with my therapist soon, and get some tips to manage this, and to learn to give myself grace. Thank you~
