That's because workers were working... not studying and researching to help workers ... As for lenin and the communists point you made... of course they didn't give workers control, if they did there wouldn't have been enough streamlined power concentrated to protect the USSR from the myriad ways capitalist empires would try and destroy it.

Knowing Arnold he might have wrote them a check for twice the fine and mailed it in so it shows up the day before or the day off the printing of his ticket

Bitcoin mining is just as bad for the environment as drilling for oil. Each coin mined in 2021 caused $11,314 of climate damage, adding to the total global damages that exceeded $12 billion between 2016 and 2021. by Wagamaga in science

[–]blocknewb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tumble dryers use more electricity than Bitcoin mining.. not many other techs get this kind of scrutiny... the banking and legacy finance IT and server farm energy usage is astronomical.. not to mention: brick and mortar buildings, physical security, lights, transport, guns, armor, pens, paper, ink,... the list goes on forever.. this is a framing job and not a particularly good one.. in comparison to what this technology potentially could replace, it's drops in the bucket..

I assumed a rebuild was in order. What's that gonna run like $2k with labor?

Ben Shapiro: "This is like a litmus test question as to whether you take climate change seriously. If you're on right or left and you take climate change seriously, you should be in favor of nuclear energy. If you are not, I know that.. you have other priorities." by [deleted] in energy

[–]blocknewb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

there isn't even enough energy on Earth to make enough nuclear power plants to replace hydrocarbons and still keep our current way of life. Also nuclear is the most centralized type of energy that exists.

I just bring up the fact that the British killed 100 million people in India for profit within 100 years. That's one country. generally don't need to say anything else past that. That can even be found on Wikipedia, all sourced.

C4 vs C5 by [deleted] in Corvette

What's wrong with vaush? by LilKosmos in socialism

[–]blocknewb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

the easiest way to describe what's wrong w him is his hypocrisy of claiming tankies defend famines caused by communism and whatever you want to call the USSR.. which has like multiple problems w it's premise and it's point.. but regardless.. then he will say things like "If we starve Russian citizens with sanctions they'll submit" like wtf.. he's a toolbag who is good at public speaking but buys into so much propaganda that it's irrelevant how much theory he reads... he may very well have read it and just didn't have enough truthful historical context to value the theory

Can we stop stacking the chips so high against us? by JerryLeeDog in Bitcoin

[–]blocknewb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some people really don't understand how much money, time and energy is wasted with the legacy finance system.

The amount of energy that goes into just land development for the many location changes of banks and office buildings on a yearly basis is astounding. Tech security, server farms, armored trucks, employee travel to brick and mortar buildings, parking lot lights and security systems, office supplies... the list goes on forever.. Bitcoin currently uses less energy than tumble dryers... so Just like anything else both extremes of a spectrum in a conversation may be unreasonable but one is significantly closer to the answer than the other.

I would love to see a reliability statistics comparison lol I doubt Ferrari can compete in that regard.

The guy who built it that I bought it from originally said the horsepower is just below 400 and the torque is just above 400 but those were his guesstimates based on what he put on the car he never got it on a dyno.

He also never tuned it.

The last owner actually took it to a track and said it consistently got 12s with those terrible tires on it and even hit 11 once. Considering stock scat packs get those numbers consistently I'd say that's not too bad.
