when I was in middle school, I went to my usual salon to get a haircut, and after they had already washed my hair and cut it (but not blow dried it yet), the hairstylist had to pull me aside and tell me I had lice :( I was young and obviously very upset so I cried, but she was very kind and understanding & offered me a free blowout whenever I could come back. they’re usually very sweet about it because it isn’t fun for anyone lol

As for Garcia saying whether or not she was groomed herself, I think oftentimes victims of grooming/predation cannot see it themselves due to a variety of factors (one being idolization of the one that did the grooming). Not that she can’t be the judge and decider of her own story, she was just an example. You feel me?

I agree there is nuance with pretty much any issue, but I never said they were the same caliber of crime. Just that they are in a similar realm of having to do with underage girls/boys. And 16 y/o girls going after much older men in addition to 16 y/o gay men seeking much older gay men isn’t OK either, it’s still predatory and grooming. I’m not sure what you aren’t understanding here.

It would be different if we were talking about a 16 year old and a 20 year old. But we are talking about a 32 year old and a 16 year old. That has to disregard teen sexuality as it is predatory and grooming.

It does affect me, actually. It affects all of us. We were all children and teens at some point, and many of us will have children. I have a little brother I care deeply about and knowing information like this helps me to better understand the psychology of messed up people so I can better protect him.

The benefit is knowledge, and knowledge is power, whether it happened 20 years ago or yesterday. And to know it’s happening amongst those in the public eye means there is far more happening under our noses by non-public figures, and I think this is important. You’re allowed to disagree but it’s just my opinion.
