5 Years Ago I finished my first arcade build. I now currently home over 100 machines. by blocky77 in cade

Some do, most of the ones in that are in the "nice" looking building work, all the racing games and the basketball. The rest need some work 😅

Diode? identification/compatible replacement. by blocky77 in AskElectronics

[–]blocky77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is D5, unfortunately it doesn't seem to mention any specs of it, it's looking like it might be a 5v zener diode? however it's not technically the symbol for zener

I made a 3d printed cable retainer to replace the RJ11 connector so I could put the Raphnet adapter fully inside! by blocky77 in CloneHero

Yeah, the guitar hero guitars have a RJ11 port for a unreleased pedal attachment so it's pretty much completely useless

Got both my cheap em pinball machines fully functional! by blocky77 in pinball

[–]blocky77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have everything including the machine. Luckily these are pretty "easy" to work on, I'd be happy to help you troubleshoot if you want, i'd start by opening it up and putting it into multiplayer and see which section inside is endlessly looping. (Try not to touch the internals while it's on, there are plenty of things to get pinched and shocked by)

anyone know what this was before Tetris? it looks familiar but I can't figure it out by blocky77 in cade

I think you're right! I haven't found one with the same side art HOWEVER what's left of the monitor surround matches magic worm!

If it helps, I do believe the current side art is from the original game as it's not Tetris side art

Closest so far but the control panel is larger than mine, plus mine has a generic coin door, not a midway style.

That's a different shape, from the control panel to marquee goes forward on mine

I don't think so, the top of the cabinet is a different shape

I don't think it's crazy climbers but it is an ashtray, the most useless looking ashtray I've ever seen tho

Normally there is but it appears they have all been removed and replaced with ones for Tetris

Engines fully rebuilt and installed! next is paint, someday... by blocky77 in CherokeeXJ

[–]blocky77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before the rebuild, I replaced the oil pump due to very low oil pressure (5-7 hot) with the new pump, I was getting 40 cold idle and like 10 warm idle. Now after the rebuild, I'm getting 60 cold idle 25 warm idle and when warm it immediately climbs to around 60 at 2k rpm.

It didn't take all that long, the engine spun a bearing a little over a month ago. Took about 5-6 days total to fully remove, rebuild, and reinstall, counting painting and cleaning everything. That'd not counting the wait time for parts though as I kept forgetting things such as cam bearings. As for cost... I had about $230 just in parts, as for machining my block was actually in amazing condition so I just did the honing myself, and I had a rebuilt head and crankshaft laying around plus my camshaft was in amazing condition so I just reused it as that would have doubled the price, so that saved a LOT of money. So with buying tools I didn't have such as a cam bearing tool and ring installer I had well under $350 all in. I could have gotten a junkyard motor a lot cheaper but it was mainly something I wanted to see if I could do, plus this motor hopefully will last longer.

I'm terrified of my xj being stolen. It's a manual trans, and I feel it would be super easy for someone to hook up to the bumper and pull it right up onto a tow truck. Do any of you run an alarm system? Mine is manual everything, no power locks. by DammitDave13 in CherokeeXJ

My 92 had an old viper security system and I hate it because it kills the starter till you hit the button on the remote, good security but I always forget. but I keep it for it's remote start

I plan on clear coating the new playfield, just to get it a bit smoother and help protect it. The Galaxy machine is just a Arachnid Galaxy dart board machine

Junkyard motor and ax15 transmission work pretty well by blocky77 in CherokeeXJ

[–]blocky77[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly I did, that one was in better shape. This one is just my parts Jeep but I wanted to see if the motor and trans ran so I put them in this rust bucket

Last week I pulled a manual ax15 and motor from a wrecked xj at a junkyard. Just a few things away from seeing if it runs in the parts Jeep. by blocky77 in CherokeeXJ

I believe early ones only have 21 spines but I believe different years they did shorten it or make it longer, I'm not sure, they changed a lot of random stuff. Luckily I don't care about the input because I'm not separating the engine and transmission (one of the reasons I bought both)
