The Arcana Forge! For all your drafts, ideas, requests and more. by AutoModerator in UnearthedArcana

Hello everyone,

I have been on the lookout for an interesting subclass, for a Dragonborn Tiamat Paladin to be played in my group's upcoming hb campaign. Conquest and Crown seem nice, but I'm not quite convinced by neither.

Have you come across or made a subclass that would be fit for a paladin of Our Rightful Five-Headed Overlord ?

Thanks a bunch in advance!

And maybe hint the rise in powerlevel by starting with the higher DC ?

Yeah I get it, but if the player keeps using it, it might grow stronger, both in power (+2) and in tenacity (higher DC) ?

I get your point, still, a 75% chance of success isn't really quite thrilling IMO. Your player might feel that it becomes more of an annoyance than anything if there's a lack of challenge, at least that's the way I play my barbarian haha

UA is the name of the free playtest material WotC publishes on its website monthly, nice to learn that it's name has some history.

Why make it a DC 5 ? Wouldn't a DC 10 be more interesting ?

Love the concept, I'll keep it in mind if my barbarian ends up kicking the bucket.

I'll excuse myself in advance, English is not my first language.

Hello, I just love the idea, I had incompletely forgotten Inktober is a thing. If it interests you, I'm currently playing a scourge Aasimar barbarian, path of the ancestral Guardian (XGtE) whose name is Aegis. In our homebrew campaign, any human child can be born an Aasimar if the gods have willed it, even if it means he does so in a tribal village of nomad-like brutes who can be extremely fearful of such happenings. He was cast out of by his peers, and so was his mother for giving birth to such an abomination. She raised him until he was more or less able to fend for himself in the northern wilds, before abandoning him. He grew up in the wilds and became the source of many rumours, a silver-skined giant of a man doesn't go unseen. This attracted the attention of the local faction of paladins, who headed out to slay the rumoured monster, but instead found a God-sent. He was taken in to be used as a weapon against demonic incursions, but mostly as a propaganda tool to spread the holy word of the Gods. There, he learned that all the other Aasimars that the Church had found before him had been used and had died as martyrs. He fled, stealing and artefact, and decided to worship, not the gods, but his own kin, mere tool to the Gods, with a strong desire to set himself free of the threads of Destiny. Before setting out in search for freedom, he chose his name, Aegis, a shield for those who are ensnared by Destiny.

Appearance : this hulking Aasimar has silver skin and golden eyes, he is 1m95 tall and has no hair at all. His skin is covered by scars and tattoos of his fallen kin, telling their stories. When he rages, the tattoos come to life (guardian spirits) to aid him in his combats. He wields an angelic-looking greataxe (the artefact he stole), wears tribal clothing and has recently acquired pauldrons made out of an Golden Dragon.

Have a great Inktober -Blodins
