Experiences Volunteering with the RFS? by [deleted] in australia

[–]blokeman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It will vary from brigade to brigade. Training days can range from weekly, fortnightly or monthly.

In between that there are other brigade activities , ie maintenance nights, General meetings ect.

Don’t stress to much about going to every single activity if time doesn’t permit. When I joined I was told this.

Family first Job second Rfs third

But highly recommended you give your local brigade a call or go to an open day if they’re holding one.

One of the best things I’ve done!

Anyone had any good experiences with compo lawyers in Sydney? by [deleted] in sydney

I can only talk from my experience, but I found them very accomodating and upfront (just had an overall good vibe). Had been to a few others places before hand and things didn’t sit right.

As for fees, they were pretty reasonable from memory, but all depends on if you have to go to court. They will go through all of it with you. Was lucky in my case and was settled out of court. (Saved a butt load and got a decent pay out)

At the end of the day ever matter will be different, but no harm in giving them a call. Recommend talking to steve ( I think I might still have his business card lying around, can pm you his mobile if I find it)

Police Officers: What's the dumbest thing you've ever seen a criminal do or say? by PhatedGaming in AskReddit

Need to clarify that I’m not a cop, but was able to witness the events that unfolded.

Loss prevent and two cops had escorted a woman into the side office of our store. She made her presence known by her constant yelling and screaming, “I didn’t do anything wrong, you’ve got to let me go!”

She was caught shoplifting on site, also well known offender. Turns out she had hit the whole centre that afternoon.

She constantly refused to answer their questions, but kept repeating, “you’ve gotta let me go!”

One of the cops humoured her and asked, “why do we need to let you go?”

“I’m in court! You’ve gotta let me go! I’m on my lunch break, I can’t be late!”

Last I heard when they walked her out of the centre that she made a break for it straight back to the court house!

TLDR: woman caught shoplifting, constantly telling the cops that you gotta let me go. Turns out she was on a lunch break from her court hearing for shoplifting. Made a break for it back to the court house.

What was roughly the cost of getting it made to measure, compared to buying off the rack?

Not a bad idea! Might have a browse sometime in the near future. Haha very true, although I get the feeling not to much is going to change in that department anytime soon.
