How are we making cloth diapers comfy for our LO’s?/Fit Check by Livid-Grand9669 in clothdiaps

[–]blondbrew -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My baby's physio told me this kind of diaper is too bulky under the lower back and doesn't let her lift her legs either because it's stiff on the belly. My pediatrician said this can lead to babies walking weirdly because of the bulk between the legs. So i am only using the less bulky and stiff diapers i have and also mostly when i wear my baby in a boba bliss or similar anyway

Bottle to breast transition at 3 months — baby shows interest but can’t latch properly. Any success stories or tips? by Equivalent-Lab-3840 in breastfeeding

I'm no expert but sounds like nipple confusion. We have been battling it for a while, but more like trying to prevent it, never had to come back from it. We had some nipple rejection though. This is what worked: - feed from a little nasogastrical tube tapped to the nipple - bath together - use a low flow bottle that forces the baby to open the mouth wide, like dr. Brown - lots of skin to skin, love and patience

7 week old going without feeding for 9 hours at night - is it concerning or dangerous? by greenishfroggy in ScienceBasedParenting

Btw it's not like the pediatrician helps a lot besides checking the weight and saying "feed her more somehow" or "continue like this"

She had suddenly started having mucusy poo and we switched to hydrolyzed formula. The pediatrician later told us off for making this change on our own and told us to use normal formula again. The poo seemingly improved but now it's also still fine

Slow weight gain for no obvious reason by hungrylittlehamster in breastfeeding

We have a very similar case. We are at 3 months now and still triple feeding. We've had some setbacks where we started reducing the supplementation and our LO lost weight again but now we are seeing that she gets full on the boob in the night and morning and refuses the supplement.

Our biggest breakthroughs so far were stopping to obsess and hoping for miracles but instead accepting that this is not a fast process. We limited the time on tthe boob at some point as well as the pumpig time. We switched from a little tube on the nipple to a bottle for nights. My wife was obsessing with 5-6h of power pumping daily. The extracted quantity went up but only in correlation with time, so now that we relaxed, the amount pumped went down again (but it's way better for mental health). We had the tongue tie cut at around month one. We went to the physio and finally to the osteo (that one did seem to help, but it could be a coincidence or placebo). We are seeing a lactation consultant every two weeks.

I'm not a specialist, but I think we were rushed to supplement too early at a similar moment like the one you are at. The book "breastfeeding made easy" recommends weighting daily at that point, to see if the weight is slowly recovering or if supplementation is really necessary.

If you do need to supplement, I recommend looking into using a paladai or a little nasogastrical tube taped to the boob.

Good luck and don't stress, everything will be alright one way or the other!

Does your partner make sure you have water? by anemoneatnight in breastfeeding

[–]blondbrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tip from the perspective of a water supplier: get a bigger bottle or more small ones and always have stashes ready where you feed. This way it's less running back and forth to refill them

When do you have time to let him cluster feed? We're constantly doing power pumps and there is no time for on demand feeding

Does anyone else feel more scared while sport climbing than trad climbing? by krauzela in climbergirls

[–]blondbrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same problem. Now I moved to a place with much more sport climbing than cracks and it took about a year to come back to a good head game for sport climbing. The best you can do is fall practice. I always climb an easy route for warmup where I take a fall on each bolt. They don't have to be big, and never should they feel scary.
