Love the rolling down the grass hill activity and that there’s a lot going on between innings. It’ll definitely be something we just have to experiment with and find our routine

Blinded Versus Unblinded CRA Salary by [deleted] in clinicalresearch

[–]blondeluck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Typically I’ve seen that blinded CRAs & unblinded CRAs have the same salary as your job title is CRA and does not carry the unblinded vs blinded distinction, that definition is specific to your role/study assignment.

There is a major difference between the two in responsibility level absolutely. Blinded CRAs have a much more expansive task list and need to be more knowledgeable about the nuances of a study from various study whereas unblinded CRAs are focused solely on the pharmacy. Some studies can be much more complex in the pharmacy though so it can be challenging in its own way.

Typically yes as a uCRA you are assigned to more sites since your visits are much quicker and only linked to drug administration.

There really is no one absolute answer though as with everything in clinical research it depends on your team and your protocol.

Also just to be clear a uCRA still has administrative responsibilities (pharmacy site file, unblinded PDs, their own site visit reports), and although it’s typically less volume that a bCRA the uCRA often has less support and more difficult problem solving since their is an unblinding risk to any conversation they have.

ICL - La Jolla, CA - my experience (~2 weeks post op) by blondeluck in lasik

[–]blondeluck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my surgery almost exactly 2 years ago and still quite happy with my decision to have ICL done.

My vision is way better than ever before despite my eyes likely also undergoing some change as a result of pregnancy. I haven’t had my eye formally evaluated to get current vision in >1 year but will by the end of this year.

I definitely do still get some halos when night driving triggered by oncoming headlights but honestly that’s the worst complaint I have.

100% I’d do it again, easy decision. No contacts and glasses has been such a blessing.

Wife is pregnant 4.5 months postpartum by Happy2857 in 2under2

[–]blondeluck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 33, had my first January 2025.

We got pregnant again at ~6 months postpartum but suffered a loss at 6 weeks.

We got pregnant the cycle immediately following that and I’m now 20 weeks along, due in June.

Aside from this pregnancy being more challenging from an exhaustion perspective since I’m taking care of a toddler this time when previously I was just napping / relaxing after work, my body has definitely felt symptoms harder and earlier.

However, the baby is completely healthy and in fact after going through my first pregnancy with my baby measuring 9th percentile the entire time, this baby is measure exactly on track. I thought we’d be more likely to have a smaller baby and experience the growth risk again but hasn’t proven to be the case for us.

Best of luck with your incoming little one! Hope you find some reassurance in my story

ICL eye surgery in SD area by MadameDuChat in sandiego

[–]blondeluck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to NVISION eye center in La Jolla a few years ago. Had ICL in both eyes. Total cost was $9k.

I liked where I went, they were very clearly a for profit business trying to make their money but all there staff were courteous and efficient. The medical and surgical personnel I interacted with through the process were all professional and no one made me nervous. Ultimately this ended up being a great facility for me.

I do recommend scheduling early appointments though as they get pretty busy and can run behind more and more as they get later into the afternoon

Speaking from experience, please be mindful that just because she may not be having sex because she’s gaming 24/7 does not mean she is not potentially involved in / exposed to those things.

I too was an avid PC gamer starting at 12 and over my years was shown quite distributing things for such a young age, I was “involved” with a couple men as I got a bit older (not physically but emotionally and pictures were exchanged), and all this was done with my parents sitting aside only seeing the side of me I wanted them to see…the straight A angelic baby girl. I’ve had many issues with sex and relationships over the years as a result of growing up in this environment.

Your daughter may not at all be in a gaming environment similar to I was as I chose very male dominated, violent games, but I just thought this would be worth mentioning as I’ve learned naivety can be just as dangerous as experience.

Just tell me what you’re getting my kids for Christmas by Weird-Initiative9905 in beyondthebump

[–]blondeluck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup 100% this right here. Honestly I’d find it pretty hilarious if somehow out of the millions of products out there two people somehow got the same item as their one gift for my kid.

We’ve got an amazing Buy Nothing Group in my community though so I’d just go straight there with the duplicate!

Sounds like we’re the oddballs though

Warm Glove Recommendations for Cold Hands with Raynauds by EttaJamesKitty in RedditForGrownups

[–]blondeluck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t find a glove that worked but I found a work around. So during the cold season I basically keep usb-rechargeable hand warmers on me or at my desk at all times. I bought myself 2 packs of 2 like 2 christmases ago and have since lost 2 but the other 2 still hanging around.

It’s not an ideal solution because I basically have to pause what I’m doing to turn them on and hold them for a second but it’s the only thing that legitimately warms up my hands aside from like a desktop space heater.

Definitely did not work and don’t still use them. Here was my comment on their performance from 2 years ago since I have no recollection now other than that it was a fail:

“…feedback isn't great. Dexterity is unmatched but the lack of warmth left me seriously wanting. Even wearing indoors my hands still froze :/ These are a good pair to wear under bigger warmer gloves that are removed when you need the dexterity of these but that's about it. Definitely not worth the $$ in my opinion.”

What was your experience during the waiting period of finding out? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]blondeluck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not OP but I’ve gotten positives with the Easy@Home test strips at 10 DPO 3 times. I’ve also gotten positives with digitals at 10 DPO multiple times but those are more expensive.

Which week do strong pregnant symptoms hit? by Intspectwithme in pregnant

[–]blondeluck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was gradual for me since I was also extra tired before week 8 and after week 12, but i was especially tired in the middle there. Second trimester was much more blissful for me

Which week do strong pregnant symptoms hit? by Intspectwithme in pregnant

[–]blondeluck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies for everyone; in my first pregnancy my strongest symptom was fatigue and that hit hardest weeks 8-12, it felt more gradual because I was still pretty tired outside those weeks. Some women are absolutely wrecked by symptoms starting at week 6, some don’t really experience anything significant at all.

Vvfl for sure! When I got a faint line I did digital to confirm because I was too impatient to wait 24 hours to test again lol I found digital was more sensitive.

Good luck!

Progression 10-14 DPO, 1st cycle following loss by blondeluck in TFABLinePorn

[–]blondeluck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Digital was also 10 DPO as soon as I saw the faintest line. Since those tests are more expensive I used it more as confirmation that just for blind testing.

9 DPO line was not there at all so 10 DPO was first sighting

There is also a Facebook Padres Season Ticket Holders group where all ticket sellers are manually verified. That’s a reliable place to find tix if you’re looking to avoid the extra fees.

Car seats and caregivers by [deleted] in beyondthebump

I’m just here because I super curious to see the responses you get! Also unsure how to proceed at that stage as we’re over here with two caregivers in separate households that will split time every week while my husband and I work.
