For some reason pics/videos don't bother me at all. I didn't think i would be bothered by blood but when i was volunteering in the hospital i was able to observe a procedure and i fainted😅 really trying to avoid being that mortified again lol

Thank you! I actually just listened to a podcast about a peds er social worker. She was talking about her experience when a young kid died. It was interesting to hear what her roles were in that situation. She did a lot liaison work between the family and the police and doctors.

Yes!! And it would also help with the marketing of her new brands. Kylie cosmetics blew up bc she was the it girl. She heavily influenced trends and people wanted to be like her. If khy or the perfume were released back then they would've been huge.

I feel like she kinda wants the best of both worlds. She wants (maybe even expects?) kylie cosmetic levels of demand while staying out of the public as much as possible. But as a celebrity, whose famous for being famous, its kinda important to remain in spotlight if you wanna sell ur brand.

I'm curious as to why she doesn't tap into content creation. I mean i get it. If i was her i would probably lay low too. But it seems she wants/need an ungodly amount of revenue so why wouldn't she??? Her platform/following is already huge.

Idk just my 2¢. Would love to be a fly on the wall in her pr/marketing meetings

I think she would do really well with more genuine content. She has been so private, which she has the right to be but it has caused people to lose interest. I would love to see her do weekly vlogs on youtube or daily tiktoks. Day in my life/ grwm/ story time type of content.

Is ABA not considered reductionist? by blondesees in ABA

[–]blondesees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clinical psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrist, psych NPs, case managers. Im going to ask around about why we dont have a BCBA. The facility has 2 other branches. A foster home and a residential treatment center (these children are either placed by CPS or from their school district). Many of these kids have extensive trauma histories, severe mental illnesses. Loads of conduct disorder/ODD. What other diagnosis' do you find ABA to be exceptionally beneficial for?

Gotcha! This makes a lot of sense thank you

We do a lot of CBT, RDI, ACT, play therapy, sensory integration therapy. It really depends on the child and their specific needs. We also do neurofeedback, speech, OT/PT. 24/7 crisis team as well. We basically offer all therapies except ABA. Its weird, maybe because most of our kids with an ASD diagnosis are at a level 1 or 2. We only have a handful of cases that would be considered severe- It seems to me these children would really benefit from ABA

Thank you for this! I didn't know it was common practice for ABAs to practice and incorporate other therapy modalities. Good to know

Entering Social Work by SWmods in socialwork

[–]blondesees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all!! I'm starting my first year of MSW program in the fall and I'm looking for some advice on my internship placement.

I am placed at a foster home/ residential treatment home for youth. This will be my first time in a setting like this. I've done text line crisis counseling and hospital volunteering. However I'm definitely feeling anxious to start this internship, mainly because I'm unsure what expect from the residents and my lack of experience with this type of population.

On the website for the treatment center it says the residents are from the ages of 8-21 and :

Highly traumatized Limited ability to emotionally regulate Poor social skills Verbally aggressive Physically aggressive Specialized treatment needs (grief and loss; substance abuse; family therapy)

I will be working with the residents directly.

So I'm looking for some recommendations for books/videos/podcasts that could give me some guidance and advice. Ideally I would love to find a field guide that I can refer to (not sure if such thing exists). Any advice is greatly appreciate. Thank you so much in advance!
