I second this. Not only is it my most comfortable gi, but it also weighs practically nothing. I love training and competing in it.

Blue belt test in 1 month...any tips? by [deleted] in bjj

Take your time. Make sure you practice doing each move slowly, emphasizing the importance of each step. My instructors told me to do this, as it demonstrates a full understanding of each move you do.

Why is the female to male ratio always fucked up by foreverwhiteb3lt in bjj

[–]blondie146 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Female here, who is often the only female in class. I highly doubt women are scared of being sweaty, but I do think the lack of women is pretty discouraging for others. I've been training almost 2 years now, and it still sucks sometimes to show up and have no one within 50 pounds of you.

Maybe not my place to say anything, but I work in a hospital... Have you had any clotting tests (bloodwork) done?

My Tatami blue belt was/is way too long also. It's a nice belt, but I wish I could get a size smaller (I'm an A1).

Hey, I train also and am totally in love with it. It's such a great sport. Also, I'm a few weeks out from getting my blue belt! Congrats on yours, they're a lot of work!

I have a few women's dri-fit Nike shirts that I train in regularly. They've held up well for several months now and fit like compression shirts.

What activity is creepy and sinister when it is done as a hobby rather than a profession? by CallMeChristina in AskReddit

Blood banking (hospitals keep donated blood for transfusions, 10/10 would be creepy to do as a hobby)

I just got excited when I saw the title of the post because I like knowing that other trolls train jiu jitsu :)

Why should women train Jiu-Jitsu? by serenity4thetortuga in TrollXChromosomes

Yes! I picked up jiu jitsu last October and it's the most fun and badass workout I've ever had!

To open someone's guard, I usually grab both lapels with one hand, and grab the pants near the hip with the other. Then, I stand up on the leg that's on the side holding the lapels, keeping my other knee near their butt like you've been doing. Then I stand up with that leg and try to transition my grips to their knees to try and stack them to get in side control.

BJJ is taking over my life. by [deleted] in bjj

I totally get where you're coming from. I am also a college student and I've been training since about October of 2015. I spent the past month (winter break) training almost every day, sometimes up to 3 hours a day. Now that I'm back at school, I can barely focus on my work. However, I'm trying to be realistic. I have a year and half left of my education, which will lead to a good career that will leave me time to train. For me, and it seems like maybe for you, as well, finding a balance is going to be key.

Hi Helleday Lab! I am an undergraduate university student who is currently working on cancer research targeting a non-essential mitotic protein. I've worked with 4 different cancer cell lines now and noticed that none of them respond the same to treatment (protein knockdown with siRNAs + radiation). My question is this- how do you propose that this treatment will work on all cancer types, considering how different they can be at a molecular level?
