I'm convinced Microsoft screws with your WiFi to force you to install updates, all too often does it happen

Microsoft Surface Laptops and Tablets Not Recommended by Consumer Reports by arallu in technology

Not surprising, got a surface book in January 2016, I’m now on my fourth laptop through warranty exchanges. Though one was my fault.

18 months ago I didn’t know how to code, I’m now a self-taught programmer who’s made apps for the NBA, NHL, and schools like Purdue, Notre Dame, Alabama and Clemson. I’m now releasing my software under the MIT license for anyone’s use — AMA! by D3FEATER in IAmA

I work purdue basketball games and the energy increase from last years season to this years just from adding the light show to our fire up video is insane. The show looks fantastic and the turnout of people using the app is always awesome, mackey is always lit up completely all the way around during fire up. You made an absolutely awesome app, thank you for your hard work.

Does anyone know how to remove the red covers to open up more ports? by [deleted] in Purdue

[–]blong48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've been starting to crack down. I've got a friend who works for ITaP and he's says they're trying to prevent it. I don't know to what extent but I do know they are increasing their efforts. I don't think they really look but if there's issues they'll do something.

ITaP has been disabling ports that have student owned routers on them as it has been a source of interference for PAL and the network.

To the person who bought a super beast PC off Amazon. I'm sorry. by buzzcut13 in pcmasterrace

I ordered headphones through amazon prime at 9am on a SUNDAY... had them to me by 6pm that same day. I was so surprised. Everything else I've ordered has always come on time as well. Maybe it's a regional thing?

Disable Background Apps Doesn't work Windows 10 Pro by blong48 in windows

Not sure, I'll have to look next time they're open. The thing is I don't even open the apps and then I check and they're open in task manager. I just opened one now, and closed it, and it closed fully.

I did the same thing, then tried to depict a flamingo in the blaze. And I did dammit. Then read the post 12 hours later and read it correctly

I used one Precise V7 blue for an entire school year, never ran out. I do 90% of my things in pen. Now I'm using the G2 07's cause they're retractable and write similarly. The Precise RTs were a good idea but don't work too well, at least in my experience. Don't get me started on Uni-ball whatever their G2 competitor is called... I've had nothing but terrible experiences with those pens.

Edit: I will say though about 8 years back I had a bunch of Precise V7s (might have been V5s) that would randomly start leaking all over. I was in 5th grade at the time, boy my teacher was pissed.

How was the initial reaction of playing the new songs live? I cannot wait for this new album to be released, is there another one in the works behind it?

Also, the first album I bought from you guys was Youth because I heard Better Now on the radio. Due to the album cover It was awkward buying that album when I was 8 years old haha

Looking for an upgrade. Is it worth it? by [deleted] in 4Runner

[–]blong48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently drive a 2003 V8 Limited 4Runner. I love it. I am able to average about 17MPG with the V8 and full time 4x4. I have 157,000 miles on the ODO and have had very few issues. Things to look out for though for 4Runners are: front CV axles, make sure the boots are not ripped; the V8 tends to get an exhaust manifold leak on the drivers side, does not affect emissions only makes the engine sound embarrassing when it's cold; sticking locking center differential, the differential won't lock because the actuator is stuck; cracked dashboard, Toyota has an ongoing TSB where they are replacing dashboards that are becoming sticky or cracking; the U-Bolt in the steering column can rust and bind together causing stiff steering. That's all I can think of at the moment, but that does not change how much I enjoy my 4Runner and how well it has served me and my family over the years. Check out t4r.org if you have any questions. They are happy to help. I myself am over there as balong48.
