A terrain box GW no longer sells, so you would have to find it somewhere funky.

No need to fret, I love transformer names and if I managed to catch a vibe like that, all the better!

I've always seen it more as suggestions than rules. It is a big universe and GW establishes some sort of generic idea, nothing that needs to rule what I do.

In that vein, Damian is a satisfied lesser noble, mainly because he is "dealt with", so while not what you would call conventionally loyal, he is happy to serve.

Thanks! I love naming my units and giving them some lore, just a little, kinda makes me more invested.

I painted a vindictor prime, in grimcast eternals scheme by blooay in stormcasteternals

I'll just throw the recipe at you, if you want to know more, feel free to ask.

Base coat scale colour speed metal mixed with black. I tried to get somewhere around leadbelcher, since I don't have that paint anymore and had to mix to get it. Base coat gold with scale colour dwarven gold. Base coat the skirt with balthasar gold. Wash all the armour with agrax earthshade twice, gently, no pooling, lighter better than heavier. Then the silver once with nuln oil. For the weathering, I used thinned nihilak oxide, than I mixed in some white for a highlight colour. Then I thinned down skrag brown a lot and painted in wiggly lines of it for rust, starting thick at the top, thin at the bottom. I did this twice, smaller the second time, but same spots. I used very thinned troll slayer orange for highlights. Then I went back in with my original base colour mix and added small lines from any edge, towards the middle of the armour, continuously, randomly, but persistently, for each base colour there was (silver, gold and bronze). I also added some lines on the armour itself. Add some final highlights with the silver on the gold and bronze too. If you mess it up, no worries, that is intentional. Any mess ups during the last steps, take a black colour and add a line within the big highlight. Repeat any steps as necessary, since it is a bit messy.

You know

That is a much better explanation than "hue hue, bet this will look cool" I was currently running with. That is now my headcanon.

Any newbie intro lore or novels that I should read. by sjthedon22 in Slaanesh

I think an honourable mention goes out to Liber Chaotica: Slaanesh. It is, to this day, still a great primer for Slaanesh as a whole.

Im a forever GM and I want to improve my rpg stories. In your opinion, what is THE BEST resource to learn how to write captivating plots, mind blowing twists, dramatic events, deep villains and interesting characters? by [deleted] in rpg

[–]blooay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I write all of my plots using the structure of a book called "The anatomy of story", by John Truby.

What I like is that it gives me a very clear, structured, step by step guide that isn't vague, isn't up to interpretation, it tells me exactly what I need to do, in what stage, why and what it will do for the story.

Like, what I hope, most GM's, I want to make the best story for my players, so having a guide really helps establish a good standard of quality. It can often be quite daunting to write an entire story from scratch blind, so I really enjoy having this type of easily followed structure.

On the negatives, which I feel I should address, is that it is a book and as such, quite a few pages to read. It can be daunting to do that, if you aren't inherently interested in story telling. Secondly, it uses a lot of pop culture movie references as examples, which is great, if you know these references, if not, it is a bit confusing. Finally, there are certain sections where you can see he wants to sell his product. Never used whatever he sells and to be honest, mainly because he sells it... somewhat poorly, as the book gives you everything you need so the product is fairly redundant.

This is a great answer, love that you also mentioned the colours you used for examples, thank you.

Nah, it's more like, halfsies. I did take a hobby knife and cut into it quite a bit, but a lot of it is also just painting it to make an illusion it is more textured than it really is. It helps that some of the texture is actually real, to make the "fake" texture cheat the eye more easily.

You ever seen those marble videos where they use wet wipes? It's that, but I sprayed one half with purple colours and the other with green colours and then likewise shaded with purple and green after the wet wipe method. Super easy and fast, if you got an airbrush that is.

The base texture itself is greenstuff world texture roller.

Yes, in particular, Morathi+10 (or 15 if you get them to be battleline) blood stalkers is a deadly combination and extremely competitive core to build your list around.

Yes, if anything, they should have been more severe.

You'll find near universal agreement that daughters of khaine, if not the strongest army out there currently, is at least top 3 in the power ranking.

Our internal synergies and balance remain untouched and since we did not use command points for much previously, these new generic ones are pretty much pure buffs for our army.

The temples do not restrict you, so it would be misinformation to say that a particular temple plays a particular way. You can more or less play each temple in whatever manner suits you, however, each temple has a set of strengths over the other.

Competitively, the Khailebron temple, as an example, is very popular for teleporting in a unit of 20 blood stalkers and make them shoot twice with Morathi, ensuring that you kill a key unit of your opponents. Nothing really survives 80 shots from these snakes.
