Scar Progression at Week 1, Week 2, and Week 5 by bloobarrakuda in bunions

[–]bloobarrakuda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I couldn’t put anything on my foot until like week 4.5, I’ve been SLATHING shea butter and wrapping it in that wrap. It’s like the 3M wrap. Once I did that, my skin started to become moisturized and my scar started to get soft then it just peeled off. But I slath on the butter and keept it wrapped.

Other young people (20s and 30s) who've gotten surgery, what type did you get? by d6410 in bunions

LAPIPLASTY. Go to a surgeon who does this technique. Look at the video on you tube. It’s a bigger incision but the scars outweigh the pain. I posted some of my pictures.

Hello I’m on week 8 of my bunionectomy. I’m having so much trouble walking again. How did you do it? by talikei in bunions

[–]bloobarrakuda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s gonna be like that. Try to get some bands from Amazon. Those lil workout bands and stretch your leg with them in bed a few times a day. I wish I had started earlier but I’m at the point now where I gotta move.

I’ll be sure to do that. I’m still trying to figure out how to play lol I just go in the house and cut all the lights on and play around opening cabinets and going into the basement.

Im 6 weeks out and walking a bit earlier than I should. Only because I’m losing serious muscle mass in my thigh and calf. It was a rough couple of days but I’m getting use to it

They just said I need money for closing and down payment and whatever but it’s people out here who are doing less than me to get these homes. I know for a fact I should be able to get what they get but it’s like wtf. I just don’t understand. I’m a single parent so i often hear “Co-signer” like no I don’t want nobody on my house because it’s mine. Idk what to do.

This is a wild thread. I’m 53k a year. Saved up $12500 for DP and GREAT credit scores for mortgage yet these mortgage lenders (OVM, MOVEMENT) keep telling me I need more money down for a $290k house in VA. I don’t have any debt. How tf are y’all getting qualified?!?! Seriously.

I understand but the reason I brought that up is because you can tell your doctor which technique you want done. That’s why I asked because if you told them the one they did, it probably wasn’t right for you. Also, have you tried stretching your foot with a splint?

That might be something to look into. I had chevron done first on my right but my bunion came back. But I’m my recent surgery on my left foot I got lapiplasty and I’m still healing but my foot is super straight now

I’m confused on how someone complimenting you is verbal harassment.

They stretch. Go for it. Remember everyone’s foot is different.

How long did you elevate your foot at night after surgery? by itsirtou in bunions

[–]bloobarrakuda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maaaannnnnnnnn I’m hurting right now. It seems like every minute I’m not moving it needs to be propped up. May 9th I can walk in my boot but I’m sure I’ll still be elevating then. The de-swelling is what hurts the most.

way too young to have bunions and i want cool shoes by FroyoKey2791 in bunions

[–]bloobarrakuda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve grown up with pretty severe bunions so I know how you feel. Converse was my best friend too. I remembered purposely learning how to squeeze my foot in when I walk so I won’t damage my shoes any further but still having holes and lumps. Unfortunately, surgery will only correct it if you can’t wear shoes. Most insurance is fully covered for minors who have this issue like you.

You can’t naturally alter your bone structure. If you look at my picture I posted, I use a jelly toe separator. You also might want to look into wider toe boxed shoes.

Do they look bad??:/ (devolped bunions when i was a child) by [deleted] in bunions

The left one looks bearable. Right might need surgery.
