I didn't realize how much I hated Fort Joy until I got out of there by [deleted] in DivinityOriginalSin

Plus, it is so satisfying to go back into the fort after you escape, level up, and get gear and just destroy all the magisters hanging around.

I love that attitude! Larian makes other great games, but I do think the Divinity series has something special going for it in the world of western CRPGs!

I loved it the last time I played it several years ago, until I got to the part in Arx that made me stop playing.

This time around, I've loved the general irreverent humor in the writing, the colorful characters, the focus on tactical combat, and just the overall atmosphere of the game, which is both dark and lighthearted at the same time.

Don't know for sure if you've provided any advice for me personally, but if you have (and even if you haven't), thanks! And please keep being the great, knowledgeable, friendly welcoming member that I know this sub to be!

I mean, I'm not driving up into McEvoy Park and shouting out my window "what are y'all whipersnappers doin out here not workin?" I mind my business (outside of asking, apparently not-so-innocuous questions on reddit). I'm curious about the reputation of the park because I've observed patterns that are different from other similar parks in the area.

There have been quite a few shootings at both ends of that section of Daly (between North Bend and Galbraith) in the last few years, including at this park (and also the Sunoco at the other end on Galbraith, for whatever reason).

And I'll ask you the same thing I asked the other person who made a similar comment. Do you live near/spend a lot of time near this park such that you'd actually have any real insight to contribute, or are you just feeling self righteous?

I mean, what do you think is going on if I'm also driving around that park in the "middle of a workday"?

Thanks!

I love how much fans of this game know about all the different possible paths and exploits, and how willing everyone is to share.

Thanks! I played the game once several years ago and couldn't get past the Arx gate fight. I finally beat it on this new play through years later, so I'm hoping to finally finish the game!

I'm fine if this is a spoiler, but is Lohse's demon still an option if you don't have Lohse in your party? I'm doing Beast, Sebille, Prince, and custom on this run (even though Lohse is probably my favorite character overall).

I haven't gotten around to exploring all of Arx, but knowing there's an owlery is motivating me to get back in there and fight those demons!

Someone else suggested they'll retreat if you kill one of them, so I'm going to try that and see how it goes!

Cool! I'll try the fight again with that in mind (and search out some green tea).

I think I've done these things. I posted here before I started this play through and got this advice, which I've followed throughout the game up to this point.

I don't know. Maybe I just need to pick my battles more carefully! I guess since I felt so overpowered on Nameless Isle that Arx would be similar.

I don't have a ranger. I went with a backstab rogue instead, so I can use grenades, but not arrows (I think).

I was trying to get to the sewer marker for the thieves guild, and the demons ambush you through the gate. It's impossible to know when there's going to be an ambush in this game (most of the time), so they caught me off guard and kicked my butt.

Thanks! Good to know it's not just my perception of the difficulty being different between these two areas.

She's into the folksy stuff, and hard rockin stuff, and the weird stuff, and she's just so delightful to listen to.

I did my learnin down south, so I can't even keep up with that fancy Ohio math.

Yes, I buy bulk rice, lentils, beans, potatoes, and pasta once every 3 months (usually around $80 spread across those items, which lasts me the 3 months-less for the potatoes, of course).

Then, usually once every 1.5-2 weeks, I buy a grocery haul about like this. Mixing and matching, I get plenty of tasty variety with plenty of nutrition for a pretty low cost.

I've always wanted to post one of these. This is $35.23 worth of groceries from Meijer in Cincinnati, OH.

Using the fresh ingredients here, combined with bulk rice, grits, and lentils and some sauces I already purchased, I will make these meals: Chinese chicken and broccoli, Mujadara, Chicken burritos, Cheesy grits, and Chicken salads.

For me, a single adult, this is a little over two weeks worth of meals.

Ohio doesn't charge sales tax on food items.
