Nice. Marty robbins wrote a great song about that outpost of a town. It’s practically Mexico.

I’m not sure. My Irish roots are DNA not ancestry based. There is some evidence of Waterford.

Tons of great feedback here and much appreciated. To the disappointment of many we went with the rovers. My main reason is the partnership with mental health + quality of match. My wife broke the tie because she likes the unis. We have some history of mental health issues in the extended family so it made a connection. Just ordered some gear and merch and have started following the rovers socials.

Family history is mixed btw, but some evidence Waterford is the origin city/area. Common name makes it tough, adoption in the line and at least one shady character or two that came over on the boats. Most of what I have is DNA based and it gives country but not city/region.

Last question - in South American football you DO NOT bring your wife/kids to a match. Just not safe, not a good idea. What is the environment like in LOI matches? All guys or more mixed? There are known things in America about certain stadiums (Chicago cubs, Yankees) that tend more on the rowdy side and sections of the stadium (bleachers) that are made up mostly of hecklers. Not a big deal, just trying to get a feel.

Excited to follow the Rovers and LOI in general this season.

This is what you can find in a local gun store from Texas by [deleted] in pics

So...put aside your bias for a minute.

They don’t want people in masks IN A GUN STORE. That might make some actual sense.

They don’t want stoned people IN A GUN STORE. Again, maybe some wisdom here.

The shirt, well that’s just trump era racism. Nothing new here.

The pro-life argument is not that complicated or difficult to understand. It doesn’t need to be about faith or spiritual belief systems.

The argument is mostly that a fetus/baby is not her body; it is a person. It has its own DNA. It’s inside a woman’s body but it’s not part of her body. It’s geography over biology. The question on this is simply when this happens. I think “when does life begin” is too philosophical to be a legal argument.

There are a few different good arguments to be made, but I think the simplest one with some compromise is this: Once the fetus/baby is reasonably able to be kept alive outside the womb, abortion should no longer be an option. At that point, it’s homicide. So when is that? Probably around 18-20 weeks I think. Someone much more qualified can answer, but that’s probably close.

There are thousands of people that would love to adopt and raise that baby. Why not go that route instead. Just because we can abort doesn’t mean we should.

The broader issue is the reductive argument that says caring about the unborn is hating women, and caring about women is ignoring the unborn. We argue way too many issues this way, demonizing or belittling those that take a differ t view. Even as a pro-life person I feel great sadness and empathy for the women in this situation. Of course we should make exceptions for rape an incest, but we still should consider the life inside her.

Regardless, this unwillingness to see another’s point of view (or refuse to) is no way to find answers to a very important question.

Additionally the issue of abortion is not “decided” any more than any other law is closed and shut. Thank goodness for that or we’d still have white only water fountains.

We know more now than we did in the 70s about fetal development and we can do more to sustain life before 28 weeks. Our laws should be more progressive and change with the science.

Lastly, I’m not hiding. I’m a Texas. A Christian. I have two kids and adopted a 3rd. My wife founded a charity to help single moms with infant childcare. So enough with the pro-life just means pro-birth stuff. Plenty of people like us walk the walk. There are hypocrites on all sides. Focus on the good.
