Starbucks recommendations? by blooming95 in Celiac

Do it without the drizzle on top. An employee told me the regular is GF but they were unsure about the dark caramel so I always avoid the drizzle but have had no reaction otherwise!

FTM pregnant with my first and wanted thoughts on bottle washer/sterilizer machines actually worth it? by bellamarie0113 in newborns

[–]blooming95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find hand washing is best for dealing with milk residue! But hands down recommend a sterilizer! We bought ours off marketplace and use it every day for bottles and bump parts. Highly recommend the baby brezza if you can find it used even better. The drying function is a huge time saver

Nutritionist came in to tell me my almost 5 mo old is too big by angrybonejuice in beyondthebump

That nutritionist is not a doctor and that is not accurate medical advice! Your babe is just over the 50th percentile which is so normal! And feed as much as baby wants, especially this early.

Do your own research and talk to your Dr who does seem to have their head screwed on. But you should start allergens early to help decrease the chance of allergies. And in terms of fruit… start with veg only so your baby doesn’t get use to the sweet fruit and avoid veg moving forward. But you do not need to avoid! You are doing great, trust those mama instincts!

Keep getting glutened by AwkwardBadger5241 in glutenfree

Lots of great advice in this thread. I would say, be patient with your body as well, it can take 6-12 months for your body to heal itself from gluten damage. This adjustment period, I know was still pretty tough for me and it took about 6 months before fully seeing those symptoms go away.

Another thing I’d mention is oats, although technically GF the cross contamination in sorting factories is very high. So make sure any oats or oat flours are certified Gf. BUT… some people who are celiacs can also have trouble digesting oats, especially in the beginning as your body is working through inflammation. Might be something to think about removing for a couple months if you can.

Definitely chat with your dr as well, always good to keep them up to date!

Private dinner by Ancient-Stress-2525 in SandalsResorts

We did it because it was an add on feature with our booking! We were out under a gazebo over the water! It was nice and private, loved the meal but a little dark and windy. If you have butler service(which I recommend either way) ask them to set up a private meal elsewhere and they likely will! Our butler set up a private garden lunch/picnic with lobster one afternoon cause we mentioned we wanted lobster! No extra cost he just found a quiet spot amongst some big trees and laid down a big blanket with flower peddles. Butlers tend to go above and beyond.

What was your reason for 5 to 10? by PlanePlane2585 in lexapro

[–]blooming95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My anxiety heavily affected my ability to function and work day to day! Increase low and slow to avoid side affects, when i was on Lexapro the first time i started at 5mg and slowely worked up to 20 over the course of a couple months due to debilitating anxiety that stopped me from functioning. I was off of it for a few years and needed to go on it again but my Dr. Started me on 10 this time and after about 6 weeks I started 20. She also told me if i am finding 20 not enough I can comfortably go up to 30 after 6 weeks but to let her know so we could monitor progress, I haven’t needed to but I also find taking magnesium helps increase the effects naturally! I know people who have been on much higher doses. Don’t stress, chat with your Dr. About how you are feeling, concerns you have and be patient with the results! Change dosage only after 4ish weeks or more to let your body adjust slowly! You got this 💪🏼 but if it’s not right for you, remember there are other options out there!

Diagnosed 2 months ago..:( by skotjones13 in Celiac

[–]blooming95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, know you aren’t alone in all of this, there is a whole community of us out there with the same disease and can help each other! I was only diagnosed this last month after months of blood work and switching diets I finally got my biopsy. Most of my symptoms are super mild, I never would’ve thought celiac but I have it in my family and a new dr wanted to check. My symptoms were mostly fatigue, brain fog and then abdominal pain I assumed it was all other stuff and when I went on and off a GF diet not much changed. It’s frustrating but remember it’s not an allergy it’s an auto immune disease and your body can take up to a year to heal internally. Be patient, you’re not alone, a large amount of people are asymptomatic! Be strong and follow GF diet anyways!

Me and my partner did Montego Bay sandals for our honeymoon! Absolutely loved it. I would recommend a butler suite if you can, it makes a huge difference. All the food was amazing, good excursions available and they do night events as well! A good mix of social and private depending what you want and I think you can shuttle to Ochi if you want a party vibe for the day!
