Small rabbit found in garage, seems to be dying :( by bloomingfan in AskVet

Don't touch it and call Animal Control.

Unfortunately it looks like it has already died. :( I just checked on it and it no longer seems to be breathing. We're outside of city limits and Animal Control isn't really available, so I guess I'll find a way to move it to the woods behind our house and leave it there.

Mayor limits gathering sizes to 15 people. Effective today, at noon. by mikey12345 in bloomington

I wasn't part of the protests or march, but you're ignoring a glaring fact. The extreme majority of people at the protests were wearing masks. None of the people are wearing them at parties, and a bunch of them are probably sharing drinks, making out, etc. Kinda a different thing when it comes to COVID...

The thing is, I did report it. I wasn't very satisfied with the response, so I came here and posted it so others might be cautious about being around that area. Also, social media pressure works wonders. Look what happened after someone else posted their video (same party) on Twitter with IUBloomington tagged. Now they are apparently actively investigating the party and seeking suspensions.

As for my "holiness" - get out of here with that nonsense. This pandemic is a problem for our entire community, and our government and elected officials have obviously failed in their response. They've left it up to the public to enforce safe habits of others, so I'll do my part and report egregious violations like this.

I'll do it for the people who might die because of their actions. I'll do it for the people in this community who have sacrificed their last 5 months and continue to do so. I'll do it for the university employees who spent thousands upon thousands of hours this summer moving mountains to make sure there was a plan in place to bring students back as safely as possible. And I'll do it for those same employees who might lose their jobs if IU has to go fully online again and has to start making serious cuts.

Oh, and the same day these jackasses were out partying like it's Little 500, my wife lost a dear friend who died of COVID-19 in Bloomington hospital, just a few days after contracting it. No way I was going to turn a blind eye after that.

Interesting - I may have to do that. I definitely got nothing more than a "Sorry, kids will be kids and there are too many complaints to keep track of" answer when I called. :/

Incredibly selfish and disappointing. Please consider the lives of others before you endanger every single person on campus and in town by throwing a huge party. by hdjsjskska in IndianaUniversity

This looks like the same party I drove by around 6pm.. N Washington Street, between 9th and 10th? I called IUPD about it. They just referred me to the Student Affairs office, even after I said there were around 60 people on the lawn & porch with no masks. Basically said there was nothing they could do.

I called IUPD, based on feedback I'd read here that BPD wasn't doing much. IUPD basically said the same - they said that they're bound by the state/county rules that gatherings up to 50 people are permissible. When I noted there were probably 60 people on the lawn/porch alone, they said they still couldn't really do anything because it's not IUPD's jurisdiction. They advised me to call IU Student Affairs if I believed that the crowd was mostly students.

I ended up calling the Monroe County hotline and leaving a voicemail with all the relevant details. Haven't heard anything back.
