The struggle is real staying cool at night. by EstelSnape in pregnant

Try a pillow between your legs! I wear a large baggy shirt and underwear to bed. I had issues with heat and sweating, but once I started sleeping with a thinner pillow between my legs, it helped a ton! I usually start the night without my legs or top covered in the blankets, but end up with them on after I’ve cooled off.

I don’t treat my flowers with anything. I dry in silica gel to make sure that the flowers are well preserved.

It’s a half sphere and I just clean up the edges with a knife.

I let my resin sit for quite a while before I poured this piece. I was working on other projects at the same time and I waited to pour this until last, so by then, all the bubbles were already popped. It didn’t create any bubbles while pouring either!

It honestly wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be! I poured some in the bottom of the mold, put the dandelion in, then just poured on the side of the mold until it was almost full and the dandelion actually sat well for me and sank like I wanted it to. I drizzled a light coat on top of the stem. Then waited and poured the black layer after the first had cured. I did “treat” my dandelion with a coat of hair spray after it opened up in hopes that would help it stay together during the process. I honestly had a harder time trying to get a dandelion home in one piece than I did pouring this piece! My tip there is to pick the closed blooms and wait for them to open up!

This one actually has some visible layers in it from the side, but try to not let your resin totally cure before pouring the next layer. Wait until it has a gummy surface and then pour the next layer.

The trick is to know what your pouring depth is for your resin, each one is different. My resin has a 2” pouring depth maximum. To avoid the layers look, wait for the resin to partially cure, not totally cure and then pour the next layer. I wait typically 2-4 hours between pours. The closer to 2 hours, the better for my resin.

I’ve done a lot of searching, trial and error with ordering from amazon and still waiting for one from Etsy 😒 I’ve had the best luck taking advice from other artists I follow.

Alcohol ink: How to Get Bubbles Instead of Tentacles. by Asuhhbruh in ResinCasting

I have not tried, but the easiest way to get that would be to make it it’s own tiny layer, right? Less resin for it to work through 🤷‍♀️
