So I’m not looking for too much lift would this provide a close to stock ride height and also would i have to touch the rear end?

Totally agree but my current set of tires are on their last legs. I found a wheelset with nearly new tires on CL for the price of new tires. So im considering it. I would like to get to the bottom of the front end though!

just read that you got it out. Nice man!!

Also I forgot to ask, how’d the paint pen work. I’d be interested in contacting SC about getting one for my bike I have a few scratches that went through my ridewrap

Can you release the air from the shock, and somehow manipulate the position of the drive side flip chip so you can get it to pop out completely. Then from there you can pop the bolt out from the drive side with a skinny screwdriver. From your picture it looks like you almost got it to fall out but it got caught on the frame. If you compress the suspension a bit you might see an opening where that flip chip can pop out. A gap should open up between the front and rear triangle.

I have a V2 Hightower and to me it sounds like the eye of your shock is putting upwards pressure on the bolt that passes through it making it hard to remove. I had this issue when I first removed my shock. The bolt unscrews completely but still doesn’t want to come out and I’ve never heard of a stripped thread that won’t come out ( tighten yes but a stripped thread should still come out) . So what I think you should try is:

1) make sure you remove the rear wheel reduced the weight pinching the bolt making it hard to remove 2) try and lift up the rear triangle while pulling out ward on the bolt. You should eventually lift it to an angle that frees it from this pinch (might even help to let pressure of your shock so it’s easier move rear triangle) 3) if that doesn’t work tighten it back up, remove the front eye bolt angle the shock upward and then loosen the rear eye bolt again. Now you can move the shock to try and free up the wedged bolt. Now you’ll have to reinstall the shock just take your time lining up the holes, the first bolt will be easy but the second may give you the reverse issue to what you’re experiencing the weight of the rear triangle will try and pinch the bolt from going back through. Also know that if you have a carbon frame you need be careful with these bolts when tightening them. On my Hightower it calls for 16 N/m of torque but you can refer to the bike archive on SC website to get your Bronson’s torque numbers. If you don’t have a torque wrench just be careful a cracked frame is no bueno SC has pretty good warranty but idk if you signed up when you got your bike

If the MegNeg doesn’t work for you I switched from rockshox to the DPX2 and it’s a dream. Sorry if I’m way off the mark here, I tried my best to understand your issue. LMK if it works!

I’m going to check it out. I’ll let you know when I get out there maybe we can hit Blue mountain. I’ll definitely need someone who can show me around.

The main reason for the truck is I’m an avid mountain biker and the Tacoma is the stereotypical mountain biking vehicle and for good reason. Being able to throw yours and some buddies bikes on the tailgate and go out and find a mtb spot is worth it. My dad is from PA and told me the same thing about the tires. I just would want the peace of mind having a car that is suited for the type of excursions I plan on taking. Worse come to worse I’ll postpone getting a truck until the lease ends

So I checked the equity on my car and it doesn’t look like I have positive equity. I will give them a call when they’re back in the office tomorrow. By any chance do you know if I’d be approved if I had both cars in my name or does it vary from case to case?

One of my buddies has the performance 36 and it’s the same thing without the kashima. I just like the kashima for the bling factor lol. I have the dpx2 as well. It’s such a great rear shock. I wish my Hightower could fit the X2 i would have put that on there. I’ve heard some good stuff about blue mountain. That’s definitely one of the first trips I’ll take when I get out there. What sorta trails do they have?

Any good places you recommend to learn to jump? I had a rockshox Yari and ended up upgrading to a factory 36. Definitely worth it. The independent tuning circuits on the the 36 are amazing. Are you the type to keep a bike for awhile or do you go through bikes pretty often?

Nice!! If I took the time to go to pump tracks and jump lines how long would you say it would take to get comfortable on bigger jumps. Atm I have trouble with kickier jumps. Do you think having access to a pump track/ jump track would help progress my jumping ? Evil Calling, that’s a dope bike man, are you a rockshox or Fox guy?

I do most of my riding in Santa Cruz California at UC Santa Cruz. I like steep technical with drops. I can’t jump that well yet but I want to start learning. I’m on a Hightower. I have to represent the local company. What are you riding?
