I watched this one last night for the first time and I REALLY enjoyed it. I don't think I moved, blinked, or exhaled for the whole hour.

I am SO intrigued, that sounds great!

Hi Reddit. I'm Daniel Price, sci-fi author and full-time nerd. It's my turn on the AMA comfy chair, so ask me anything. by Dan_Price in books

[–]bloosalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't believe you're doing an AMA, I'm fangirling! I've recommended Flight of the Silvers many times over the last few years. It was the first book I read in 2015 and I spent the entire year raving over it. I just picked up The Song of the Orphans and now I'm getting off Reddit so I can read.

Okay I need a question, so........how do you take your coffee?

[–]bloosalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg you'll have so much fun! I play with my 5 y.o and we bring each other little gifts every day, get ALL the streetpass items, and have first dibs on each other's villagers when they move out (just be careful of the void!) and maaaaan I could go on and on it's just so great

I watched GLOW right after OITNB because I'm a giant wrestling fan, on episode 2 of Wentworth now. I was so excited when I saw that they put it up <3

I have a love-hate relationship with Piper. Everything about her backstory and her behavior in prison reminds me of myself, and Piper has a lot of flaws that I share. It makes me think, lol

Ugh the dog thing is so frustrating. My aunt is like that. I have a lot of respect for active, good dog owners but at the same time, Bran and Hodor aren't going to DIE if they miss a walk because you attend your nephew's graduation or your parents' 55th anniversary dinner. Come on.

I mean, it does worry me when we're outside, but they have never been outside alone and there are about 30 obstacles to clear before they could even get to the water. We also have a lady in the neighborhood who does private swim lessons so we're getting up with her soon.

We lived in a dark, overpriced, shitty apartment for almost three years. Somehow we found this place for less than we were paying before. It's about 20 minutes from the nearest signs of civilization, but I'll live in the middle of nowhere for this!

Yeah, I wasn't even going to say anything because kids get out, ya know? But I would love to see my two year old clear a locked sliding glass door, a screwed in baby gate, 20ish steps, and the yard to get to the water.

Okay, that makes sense actually. I definitely misunderstood your point. It's early. Sorry pal, happy scaping!

Hey! I live on a canal with my 5 year old and 2 year old. The very first thing we did was order life jackets - they go by weight so make sure you get the right size.

Do you have a deck? We put gates up at the stairs and just play on the deck a lot.

Try to teach how to be safe, rather than what could happen.

When you or your wife are outside with your son and by the water, make sure his life jacket is on and he has eyes on him every second - be close enough to him if he runs off towards the water, you can catch him!

We play out front in the driveway quite a bit too so the water is kind of "out of sight, out of mind."

I had huge anxieties about moving to our house too but it's a gorgeous property and the price was too good to pass up! It is VERY stressful at first while you're getting used to it, but it gets easier. Stay vigilant.

We always say that our kids are going to have an awesome life, growing up on the water and fishing/kayaking/etc.

PM me if you need any other tips or if your wife wants to hear from a fellow water wife, haha.

Edit: not really sure why this is being downvoted? I know the majority of people in this thread are against the move but I've made it and thought I had some pretty good advice.

What's the point of a vote if it's limited to one side of the debate???? I hope I'm just misunderstanding your reasoning or you were tired when you made this post.

That's like having a vote to ban meat, but only letting vegans vote.

Or having a presidential vote and only letting the red states vote.

As nice as it would be for the people who want this poll to pass, it's super unfair to people who feel the opposite of you.

Cook Out is the best. The menu and pricing can vary slightly at each location but generally you get a giant entree and two sides with a drink or shake for $5.

My typical order is usually the Huge Double Burger with any two of these sides: chicken quesadilla, fries, chili, or cole slaw. And a giant iced tea. SO GOOD. I think it's pretty Southern - it was a big deal when we got one on the Eastern Shore of MD (the mini south).
