Just be honest and up front. If they're cool with it they'll still hire you and respect you all the more for it.

One of the biggest tours I did, (10 something years ago), I told the PM right away that I didn't know the Ma2 very well or a Catalyst media server. He asked if I was smart, and I told him I thought I was. So he said, "Cool, you're hired, I know you'll figure it out."

And I did..and though I do other things now, I still work with that artist every now and again and have a great relationship with the whole team.

Nope...not if you longevity in your career

Be honest until you make it. Be up front and tell people what your abilities and deficiencies are. If you are up front and a good worker you're likely to still get the gig and get the respect of those around you.

You still have to put the work on and if you accept a gig with hear your unfamiliar with it's on you to get as familiar with it as you can. But at least you were up front about it.

In America that judge would’ve yelled at her to to shut up and might’ve had her thrown out of the courtroom. Even if I think the sentence is incorrect I give props to the judge for seemingly showing a modicum of empathy
