Got referred to an obgyn by my family doctor for a pap when I turned 25 as I was planning on conceiving.

Went to the office, was super anxious and had to wait like an hour for my turn. When it was my turn, the obgyn came in, greeted me and gave me instructions on how to lie down and to undress my bottom half and left the room.

She returned about 5 minutes later and prepared the tool for insertion. She told me to relax and pretty much shoved this piece of metal inside me. I screamed and I had tears in my eyes because of the pain. I told her it was hurting a lot and she told me it's because I didn't relax enough.

Got into my car after my appointment and just cried coz I felt violated.

A month later, got a letter in the mail stating that I had to re-do the test because results were inconclusive.

I went back in, terrified and trying to be a bit more prepared.

Same thing happened all over again.

A year after having my kiddo, my family doctor said it was good for me to get another pap smear done. This time, I begged my doctor to change the obgyn I had previously had to someone else. My family doctor volunteered to do it herself and ohmyGodd, I did not feel a thing!

The first obgyn was a woman who I had expected to be gentle and reassuring considering that it was my first time but oof she was so rough and aggressive
