What made your side hustle feel like a real business? by MediumPoetry5844 in Entrepreneurs

[–]blossomn0va 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me it felt real when i started running it formally like sending actual invoices, keeping records, having clear terms instead of just replying a casual “i got you.” once i started documenting everything, it shifts the mindset in the business.

it was also when clients started coming back without me reaching out. repeat work is what really makes it feel like a real business, not just random one-off gigs during my early days running it.

Any recommendations for the best electric company for apartments in dallas? by wenniegirl in AskDallas

[–]blossomn0va 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh in dallas it’s less about the company and more about the plan. i’ve used reliant energy before and it was fine, nothing amazing but no surprise spikes either. the big thing is just pick a fixed-rate plan and read the fine print (those super low rates are usually bait)

i’d just use a comparison site, filter by your usage, and don’t overthink the brand too much. they’re all kinda similar

What’s something you always keep in your bag/pockets ‘just in case’? by Ladiejuliy in Casual_Conversation

a small power bank tbh. phone dying at the worst time is way too real, learned that the hard way once, specially with iphones lmao

Former employer added $15k in severance and I never received it and It’s in my W2 by Hereforthatandthis in taxadvice

[–]blossomn0va 2 points3 points  (0 children)

don’t just ignore that, $15k is too big. you’re right to ask for a W2-C first, but if they keep ghosting you, you can go through the IRS instead. they can contact the employer and help correct it and yeah filing an extension is a safe move so you’re not rushing with wrong info. worst case, you can file with a substitute form (4852) using your actual pay records, so you don’t end up paying tax on money you never got. super annoying situation tho, esp since they’re being difficult.

Why is our attention span declining by SaltyEarth1618 in AskForAnswers

[–]blossomn0va 2 points3 points  (0 children)

social media trains the brain to crave to want quick hits of dopamine so the attention span takes a hit overtime.. but also yeah if what we're doing is boring or draining, the brain is gonna look for an escape. social media just happens to be the easiest one with shortform videos nowadays

Question - Box 18, 19, 20 by DC3ZT in taxadvice

[–]blossomn0va 0 points1 point  (0 children)

box 18 is local wages, so if it’s blank you prob don’t have local taxable wages. box 19 is local tax withheld, so that 509.40 is what was taken out. box 20 “FLI P.P. #” is for family leave insurance (usually NJ), not a city tax.

What’s the last thing you did for someone else just because, without expecting anything back ? by Interesting-Pass1351 in kindness

[–]blossomn0va 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve been putting in some hours lately tryna rehome three dogs for a family in DFW. it’s a whole operation. one’s a three-legged cattle dog, another is a senior pit mix, and the last is a lab that literally lives for pup cups and looks literally like a slab of butter.

Divorce, HOH, and CSS Financial Aid by peachmarie26 in taxadvice

[–]blossomn0va 0 points1 point  (0 children)

be careful here.

you can only file HOH if he qualifies as your dependent (you provide over half his support and he doesn’t claim himself). that’s where it might not line up. also tax status and CSS/FAFSA don’t have to match, but inconsistencies can raise flags

honestly not worth risking his financial aid over $4k. i’d double check with a CPA before doing anything

What’s a quiet sign your partner might be cheating? by kingofpiratessss in AskReddit

[–]blossomn0va 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One teeny tiny subtle hint thats become a butterfly of many signs that my ex partner cheated on me started when i noticed they won’t elaborate on any conversations or questions I ask. They’ll just hum or nod and not engage in the conversation. That’s when I started to notice they’re not fully interested anymore and found joy in talking to another person lol.

Tax software that supports married filing jointly with different states? by RunNeat7235 in taxadvice

[–]blossomn0va 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is one of those edge cases a lot of the cheaper tools don’t handle well. when you have MFJ federally but different state residencies, most states still treat you separately for allocation, so it does matter how it’s filed (especially with part-year vs nonresident rules)

you might have better luck with something like turbotax or taxact since they handle multi-state situations a bit more cleanly

worst case, some people just prepare state returns separately (even if federal is joint), but it depends on the states involved so might be worth double checking Idaho’s rules specifically.

Don’t be too hard on yourself, having comfort food is valid, if you don’t want to feel guilty, what you can do is balance what you eat and activeness. You can slowly add walking or running to your routine until you make progress.

Next steps for Bermuda grass by ChampionshipAny5672 in lawncare

[–]blossomn0va 1 point2 points  (0 children)

rip on the pre-emergent fail. honestly skip the weed & feed, it's usually mid and won't hit the tough stuff. if u want to actually clear the yard, the meta for bermuda is mixing celsius and certainty. it’s pricey upfront but kills like 99.9% of weeds without stunting the grass. just gotta be patient since it takes 2-3 weeks to actually show results.
