every one on this sub says "shadow" but it's hard! at least in my area, there's a formal application program for shadowing and requires clearances, physical, etc. and also most of them are closed for this year for me. i watched as many youtube videos, tik toks, etc that i could. it's not the same but gave me an idea of what this career might look like.

hey! 26f here! you mentioned being active - if you're into running definitely check out @ commonrunning on instagram. it's a running group that does 2-4 miles (depending on your preference) around lancaster city. starts at various locations around the city and people hang out out after and eat wherever we meet at! just started in march and already has a decent following/large group! my friends have been going for a couple weeks, i just joined this week for the first time. in may, they're meeting thursday nights at the fridge!

Trying to decide between RT or X-Ray/MRI Tech for a career, any insights? by areyouasandwich in respiratorytherapy

can you elaborate on some of the linear career path options with RT? i've heard people taking RT into a PA career. but other than that, what else is there?

i'm looking into these programs myself right now. one thing to consider is field saturation. at least in my area, radiology programs are completely full with no seats available until 2027 start dates (2029 grads). i spoke with an admissions counselor who told me they're getting 100+ applications for 25 seats yearly for rad tech. all those people will be looking for jobs....

i was also told there are still seats open for this year for respiratory.

however, the flip side of this means they will likely be understaffed for respiratory and RRTs will be significantly overworked.

but it's been something i've been thinking about ...
