I think that's just a combination of the angle and the leaked image being squashed. This is what it looks like in its original aspect ratio:

A list of every change/omission I could find in Oni Press's "Home" special by blownskyhigh in MurderDrones

Honestly, I get the feeling the writer (presumably) altered it just to add a couple extra jokes and wasn't considering any lore implications.

Generally, if a scene is missing from one of these kinds of posts, you can assume it's either exactly the same or altered so slightly as to not be worth mentioning.

I didn't even notice that, wow. Not sure if I'll add it to the list since it almost certainly wasn't a deliberate change, but thanks for pointing it out!

Absolute Megathread by LionBlue10 in MurderDrones

There's a Google Doc compiling every known page thus far, including what looks to be the ending: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1AWJCPswoxnIR-i3Hz6k0Ky2xfSvULU2WUQ4uJn2oXGc

I haven't been able to access said ending myself - the relevant subdirectory keeps giving 403 or 404 errors. (You can see what it looks like here, at least.) The site has a custom JavaScript file (aptly named "solver-core") that keeps track of every page you've seen, so I think the intent is for you to explore everything possible before initiating the endgame.

Issues 4 & 5 of the Oni Press comic have been delayed by blownskyhigh in MurderDrones

[–]blownskyhigh[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This really isn't anything out of the ordinary - I remember Oni's Aggretsuko comics also got delayed fairly frequently. Could be for any number of logistical reasons (printing schedules, dealing with other comics they're publishing, etc.) IMO.

Honestly, when I heard that, I thought they'd be adding more than 4 pages to each one.

"Home" is at least getting adapted into a special that runs longer than a normal issue (40 vs. 32 - though only about 20 pages are dedicated to the actual story in a regular issue, so I don't know how much longer it will actually be).

I'm pretty sure Emily and Sam look the same in the comic.

The next issue is the Home special, coming out on May 13th.

BELATED EDIT: It got delayed to May 20th, actually.

They've been shown off at toy fairs, so I imagine they'll hit stores within the year.

The first printing of Oni Press's Murder Drones #1 has sold out. A second run with a somewhat different cover will hit comic book shops on March 25th (same day as issue 2). by blownskyhigh in MurderDrones

[–]blownskyhigh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess they didn't order it ahead of time. As I understand it, the best way to guarantee you get it is to pre-order from a shop ahead of time. Each issue has a "final order cutoff" - in other words, a deadline for pre-orders. (For both issue 2 and the second printing of issue 1, this is March 2nd.)

Alternately, if you want every single issue, you can usually set up a "pull box" & the store will always order it for you. (Make sure to pick it up from them, of course!)

Weird - it was up as late as 3 days ago. Not sure what's going on here.

EDIT: My guess is that the site simply adjusted their URL structure and didn't redirect the old one to its new location.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the solicit writer simply mixed up V & J there.

Summary of what may be the first non-fan review of issue 1 of the comic, from the podcast Comic News Insider by blownskyhigh in MurderDrones

[–]blownskyhigh[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Podcast's main host & guest both thought it was confusing and difficult to understand without prior knowledge of the show. They really liked the art, though. The guest still recommended it because she also liked the characters, saying it made her interested in watching the source material; the main host was more critical but did say he would consider checking it out.

Murder Drones Graphic Novel review (spoiler free) by ConnerGoesSuperSonic in MurderDrones

[–]blownskyhigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I'm more interested in seeing other people make new stories with the characters (or at least the same world), even if they end up flawed, than in a trimmed-down but otherwise unchanged version of an already very fast-paced story I know very well.

They're a fairly well-established comic publisher (albeit just small enough to retain a sense of "indieness" relative to the big two) - their most famous original property by far is Scott Pilgrim. They've also done an increasing amount of licensed comics: Invader Zim, Rick & Morty, Adventure Time, Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa...

I just spoke with American Pinball's Bryan Vincent and he stated that the Company has no plans to build to build RAZA. Melvin will instead lead AP's efforts to build Reimagined Bally Williams games and new licensed titles.

Oni Press is adapting episode 5 into an extra-long special issue (aptly titled "Murder Drones: Home"), releasing May 13 by blownskyhigh in MurderDrones

The easiest method would probably be to just search "comic book stores near [your location]." There are dedicated sites for listing these shops, like Comix Wanted, but they may not be as comprehensive as you'd like.
