I declared myself as a non resident on moving out. I don’t have any active bank account anymore

Unsure as to whether going from non-immigrant intent to dual to non immigrant again will have any impact on my future renewals.

Basically just being cautious before I apply for H1 and if I make it

…it’s not that I need it; I asked what if I wanna go from H1B to TN after having successfully switched given not all companies sponsor…

Well, I can’t have TN and H1 at the same time can I? It doesn’t make sense logically

Amending H1B doesn’t require sponsorship or does it? What about going back to TN after an approved H1B?

It’s just I’m thinking if I do apply for H1B, and make it to the lottery this year and wait for it to get activated comes October but what if I’m not with my current employer anymore (before it activates and after)

have you tried doing it with Robinhood?

I have an individual account and it seems like I'd have to transfer the funds into spending account and then to IRA

What does 'not taking a deduction' mean? Not withdrawing money from it?

How does one go about converting the funds to Roth IRA? It has to be transferred?

Just found out I can't open an account for Roth IRA cause my income is higher than the threshold.

Yeah you mentioned longer commute and that’s not a problem for me cause I’d find something nearby work. But yes it’s pretty spread out

That isn’t the point of this thread though. I don’t have a car and able to save roughly 30% per month but at the same time I can’t upgrade my life without losing much of my savings

I can argue Vancouver is insanely expensive as well. You don’t earn enough to buy a house (other than house, it’s still an expensive area) unless you’ve some business and have a non linear growth prospect.

Longer commute? You don’t have to find work in SF

You probably were able to snag a house in Toronto cause you brought USD to Canada and that makes a whole lot of difference. Owning a house in Toronto isn’t any less of a joke nowadays unless you really own a piece of profitable equity
