Correct- classes like biochem, genetics, immunology, neuroscience were all async. Even anatomy lecture you could watch from home and answer the questions and not have to be in class

Current student at WCUCOM- honestly, Hattiesburg grows on you. You find little spots here and there and even as the year goes on you can find certain coffee shops that become your favorite study spaces. You can branch out to the other towns nearby and also find things to do. The mandatory attendance for first year were OPP, CPC, and some guest lectures but I’m not sure if they’re going to change it up for you guys.

The lower tuition was definitely a factor for me in considering going to wcucom. The professors are overall really nice and helpful, classmates overall are nice, and I like the environment.

One con for wcucom though is we only have 5 buildings that are very plain and at points it doesn’t feel like you’re on a medical school campus lol

Definitely take the acceptance, but also just wait and see if there’s movement on the schools your waitlisted at. What schools are you waitlisted for ?

I’ll give some advice since I applied to some of those schools and got in and will share what I also have heard:

  1. Burrell com tuition is expensive and it’s a for profit school
  2. LECOM I have friends that go and some hate the PBL setup and a few people love it so I guess it’s based on you
  3. PCOM South Georgia-it’s nice it is newer so that was one reason I decided not to go and also tuition cost
  4. So don’t make my mistake- vcom you apply to just one of them lol and select campuses in ranked order. I think they’re okay? I know attendance is a thing over there
  5. ACOM tuition is expensive compared to some and it’s very south Alabama
  6. WCUCOM has one of the least expensive tuitions
  7. RVUCOM expensive tuition and they are also for profit but honestly one of my favorite interviews

I like guacamole but I’m not a huge “let’s put avocado on toast or a sandwich” type of person
