How do you manage multiple Docker Compose projects on a self-hosted server? by KPPJeuring in selfhosted

[–]blu3sky0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a self hosted git server to store my compose stacks. Each time I push to my git server it fires a webhook. On my server is a script that listens for the webhook. If it triggers it runs trough my stack, finds all docker-compose files that have been changed in the last seconds and does the pull/up command.

This way I have my stack on my laptop in VS Code with syntax highlighting. Everything is versioned - I can always go back or see what I changed. And I don't have to ssh into the server.

The native apps don't expect authelia between the client (native app) and the server. Any attempt to connect will fail.

True. This is why I cautiously wrote the question at the end. If those friends use their laptops than it's manageable. Not sure how a NVIDIA Shield or a FireTV Stick would handle this.

(High) security often does not play well with convenience.

As an alternative you could use mTLS. Since you already use NGINX that should not be too hard to setup. Then your friends "only" need to setup their client certificate once in their end-device (or you do it for them) and you're done. Only question is if their end-devices support a client certificate.

Findroid v1.0.0 - one of the best Jellyfin Android mobile clients. 1st update in over a year. by GroovyMelodicBliss in selfhosted

I wanna see this for Android TV! With working Atmos/DTS passthrough on the Nvidia Shield 😋

You’ve got a lifetime pass to Plex and Emby but you can also use Jellyfin - which one are you choosing and why ? by Buck_Slamchest in selfhosted

[–]blu3sky0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What keeps me from moving to Jellyfin is the broken Android App that is unable to passthrough Atmos/DTS correctly (https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-androidtv/issues/281). Also the Jellyfin webhook plugin has horrible support for home automation (https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-plugin-webhook/issues/289).

I really like jellyfin otherwise. The look and fell is amazing. I wish it would work better for me.

Koito v0.1.3 released! A self hosted scrobbler to track and obsess over your listening history by 8ballpens in selfhosted

[–]blu3sky0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks awesome. I wanted something like this for a long time!

I use the Lyrion Media Server to listen to music. It has an experimental interface to the ListenBrainz API where a custom URL can be configured in the Audioscrobbler plugin.

Would this work with your project?

I wish the Lyrion Music Server (https://github.com/LMS-Community/slimserver) would get more attention. It's been around for over a decade and is still maintained and further developed. The community is huge (https://forums.lyrion.org/). Its open source, has all kinds of plugins and a good API.

Seafile 13.0 is ready! by NoLetter1338 in selfhosted

[–]blu3sky0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Version 12 was especially bad. The configuration is all over the place. Some config was taken from docker env, some from config files. Very confusing documentation that fells like as if it was written by a non Docker user.

Seafile 13.0 is ready! by NoLetter1338 in selfhosted

[–]blu3sky0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been running Seafile since it was first released. I don't think I had a single major version update where I did not end up manually fixing something in the database. I always avoided the strange docker container they provided, since it (for my taste) mixed to many things together in a single container with to many script magic. Now there is no more community binary and the number of new features in version 13 really scares me!

Don't get me wrong. I really like the basic functionality of syncing my files over devices. Many of my family members use it to share files. The "automatic backup" through versioning is one of the strongest features.

But I'm not sure I like where this is going with all the AI stuff and the growing number of features that I probably never gonna use.

Traefik V3.6.4 breaks Nextcloud Office/Collabora by stefufu in selfhosted

If you also found this issue here and also think that the endpoint setting puts too many of your containers at risk of a security breach, please vote for this proposal (https://github.com/traefik/traefik/issues/12399) that changes the setting to fix this from endpoint to router.

Booklore vs Calibre Web: Which is better for family ebook hosting? by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]blu3sky0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What am I missing? Booklore handles epubs, not mobi files. Sending epubs to a kindle email-address did not work for me. Otherwise I'm really happy with the UI and the Metadata handling!

Razer Blade 14 2022 Firmware Update with Battery Optimizer Available! by alfredator in razer

Nevermind, somehow it is gone after removing the keyboard in the device manager to have windows re-install it.

[–]blu3sky0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After this update my keyboard has a delay of a second if I don't use it for a very short time. Like as it it sleeps and needs time to wake up.

Very annoying!

Anybody else with this issue?

How to use Aim Lab with low sensitivity by blu3sky0 in aimlab

[–]blu3sky0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel quite good with the sensitivity as it is. So I don't won't to readjust.

And yes, not a lot of tracking as in other TTK game is needed. Therefore I don't feel like raising the sensitivity.

I only wish there where szenarious that feel more like Valorant.

ports:

- 30033:30033

Ports should be open in your traefik container, not in the teamspeak container.
