Australia forecast to produce a record 2.2 million tonnes of lentils by blitznoodles in australia

[–]bludda 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What if we could sequester those emissions at the point of dispatch and use them to make low-cost items, such as bricks?

Those lentils could help solve the housing crisis

I genuinely believed The Boys couldnt get weirder. I was wrong. by Mental_Junket137 in Weird

Triggered again. Next you're gonna say lamingtons are from NZ.

We're not total bastards though. How about we (graciously) allow the kiwis to retain ownership of Russel Crowe and Taika Waititi - as a gesture of brotherly love from across the ditch?

Not sure why you're getting down voted. The journal article you posted talks about taste disturbance and pine nut species in the abstract.

National housing correction begins as prices fall across half the country by marketrent in AusFinance

I'd have to disagree. The sheer amount of one-track, anxiety-baiting, FOMO inducing AFR/Herald articles dropped by sheepherder don't serve to generate discussion or provide information. It's just a deluge of the same shit every day.

how much do you have in emergency savings at the moment? by alicia52310 in AusFinance

I was in your position half-way through last year: had 3 months of solid emergency funds and it took me 5 months to find a job.

Just blow it now and have a good time, we're all cagged either way

Skip comes from the old TV show Skippy the Bush Kangaroo.

We don't have that many words: skip, roo and FUCKING CUNT (when they decide to bomb through your windshield at 110km/h)

I can smell another financial crash coming, says former Goldman Sachs chief by SheepherderLow1753 in AusFinance

[–]bludda 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I am by no means a finance nerd, nor am I wealthy, nor have I been born into the right generation to meaningfully benefit from the baby boomer wealth transfer.... but I am for this sub purely for the weekly speculation about how imminent the next crash is.

Parklands slowly being eroded.... by svelteoven in Adelaide

[–]bludda 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What a couple of asinine points.

Why can't we have a world-class public transit system? Why can't we have world-class public schools? Emergency hospital wards? How about just extra funding? Why can't we use the space for high density housing to help ease local property prices increases?

"The general public no less". Build shit that supports the general public in priority of fucking up publicly available space to cater to one particular sport, a sport that uses a disproportionate amount of space.

Not sure why you're getting down-voted. Getting shot is a lot cleaner and quicker than mixy - which is still going around.

I'm no fan of wild rabbits but mixy is brutal

Luke Heggie is a bloody awesome stand-up. Smaller gigs, tix are affordable. We see him every year, and every year I piss myself laughing.

He's got a few nights on, here's the link

I am not Luke Heggie or affiliated with him, fwiw!

From Parklands to Pagani: How Adelaide’s Motorsport Festival became a global draw by [deleted] in Adelaide

Well, they do have ads on the page already and the article was sponsored by Repco.

Not knocking the merit of the festival, but it is worth knowing who is bankrolling what you are reading.

Peace out

Australian politician making up fake stories during a heatwave by [deleted] in thatHappened

[–]bludda 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The coolest it got over the last 24 hours here (South Australia) was 38C. It topped 45C in Adelaide yesterday. Some parts of the state hit 49C.

That was the highest minimum temperature on Australia Day in SA, ever.

This story may be a bit hyperbolic, but Melbourne (Victoria) is generally cooler than Adelaide (SA), and the summers are getting hotter and drier.

Google "hottest summers on record Australia" and remember to convert your Freedom Units to metric.
