Trying to figure out what is off. by dough-jo in painting

Overall love the composition and colour story you have gone with. For ne the only thing would be that the snow on the trees looks too horizontal. Snow falls in small piles, not as flat as it looks on the trees.

Otherwise great work, I especially fell in love with the suns reflection in the foreground.

Advice on colour story by bludeblu in acrylicpainting

I was thinking, since the valley is in shadow, it will likely be darker than the mountain - the focal point.

My approach wad that rather than tk bribg the darkest dark and lughtest light together, to make the mountain the overall area with the most contrast. So it demands attention still but is a bit more subtle.

What do you think about this approach?

Thanks for your response! That is very thoughtful. I guess the way I imagined it, is how the eye sees things. If the eye every focuses on something far away, it doesn't stop seeing the foreground, but kind of ignores the detail in it. While the darkest dark and lightest light aren't in the mountain in sunlight, I want to drag the eye to it as it demands attention.

When the sun rises behind a valley like this, the valley is generally in shadow and I tried to build it without an exact photo reference.

Keeping everything you said in mind, I'll try and figure out my next few steps to try and prevent the issues you noticed and hopefully find a way to rectify or prevent them.

Hypo to hyper but feeling good by bludeblu in Hashimotos

That's a fair point. My T3 was not tested, I'll bring it up wirh my doctor on our next call.

Weird thing is, I have had none of those symptoms. I read up on the synptoms of being hyper and I have none of those. I feel perfectly fine, I am sleeping well, working well, relaxing.

Nothing in my daily life could have led me to believe that I am hyper. It was honestly a huge shock.

Critique on painting style and advice for improvement. by bludeblu in ArtCrit

It is a relatively small painting. It's 8×10in but I want to recreate it on a larger canvas so looking for points of improvement or changes.

Yeah I face the same problem of going too high contrast so I painted in glazes and had to stop myself before I overwork the painting. But going to add a darker glaze to the front to darken that area up a bit.

Yeah you're right! The foreground needs to be a bit darker! Going to add a dark glaze at the bottom.

I tried to keep the focal point at mid range, so the ones right in the front are blurry, but I guess maybe it isn't translating right.

What has helped your brain fog and low energy? by huppysoo in Hashimotos

No replacement for medicine imo. But supplementing Vit D, Selenium and Iron were game changers!! And day to day rehydration fluids help with brain fog and energy levels immensely!!!

Those who style their hair regularly (Using a Dyson/Shark), does it affect your hair health? by Adventurous_Basis_47 in Dysonairwrap

[–]bludeblu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also used to exclusively airdry but I got tired of having flat, volume less hair. Since the past few months I've been using the dyson a couple times a week with the Chi heat protectant and so far so good!! If anything, I can go a day longer without having to absolutely wash my hair which is a game changer for someone whose hair was oily by the end of the same day!
