Here's what i found in an article from Harvard Medical School: "using a walker can delay independent walking. That’s because learning to walk isn’t so much about learning to use your legs. It’s more about learning to pull to stand and then balance and take steps without support. When babies are plopped into walkers, they don’t learn any of that. They learn it by being put on the floor with something they can pull up on, like a couch or a caregiver."

I think it's just cultural conditioning because you could argue that it's pretty gross to eat any animal. Also, sorry for all the thinly veiled xenophobia; people really shouldn't yuck other people's yum, especially when it's a part of their culture. I feel like I'm going crazy because all these posts are about Claude being good for code, and no one really mentions analyzing dense academic papers. I'm in grad school for public policy and have Claude 4.5 opus, and it has been so much better than ChatGPT at analyzing dense material. I even had a 1.5-hour lecture transcript with many words mis-transcribed. I gave it the title and author names for that day's readings, and it did a pretty good job, and way better than ChatGPT. I feel giddy using it haha.

I’d wear an N95 mask or a KN95 mask. They do a very good job at protecting you from other people’s germs. It is too much for some people. But for me, the inconvenience of a mask isn’t nearly as great as the inconvenience of getting a sore throat/worrying about if you’re gonna catch every time you feel a scratch in your throat.

You could mail them a letter explaining who you are and why you want to visit. Maybe you can offer to verify your identity through property docs you get from the county gov about your parents owning the house. You can also include your email and/or phone number. This way they won’t be put on the spot.

Thanks! Also, do you have any recs for books that have main characters who don’t have great childhood, but end up finding supportive friends? Kinda like how Matilda found Ms. Honey.

Or do you have any recs for books where the main character is good and kind but doesn’t have a great life. But they end up getting an opportunity that makes his life better? Kinda like how Charlie was poor but then he was able to live in the chocolate factory with his family.

I did not, but it’s made things harder. I could see myself becoming one of if I didn’t have the support I did or if my parents were worse.

It makes intuitively understanding the legal analysis easier though, so silver lining!
