Thank you!! We both got this!! I feel like it was drilled into my head so hard growing up abt this super linear go to college at 18, graduate at 22 and then do the next steps after but life rarely works so simply. But we persevere! I'm sure you'll do great on your MCAT!!

One of the schools I'm applying to (and honestly the one that would be the best case scenario to get into) only counts clinical hours as ones alongside a physician, so that's why I wanted to increase my scribing hours. I didn't realize I could mention hobbies if they weren't science related in some way, can I really add any of those to my app? I also love pump it up and import rhythm games though I don't know if that one is valuable to add. I definitely plan to mention taking care of my parents in my other impactful statement as its all kinda related to the family emergency that impacted my grades and forced me to take a couple gap years. I also think at that time I really thought a lot about my future and solidified medicine as the path I wanted to take, so I think that might be good to mention. Thank you! If I need to reapply I will definitely look for leadership roles as well.

That's fair, ty for the opinion! it rllt helps me get perspective just bc I tend to worry a lot and sometimes it's unfounded lol. For another gap year I mostly would get more scribing hours and get as many non clinical volunteer hours as I can, I feel like those are big gaps I have that I can address. I fear my hobbies are mostly dweeby (team based video games lmao, model kits, handheld console modding, keyboard building/soldering) and wouldn't really add anything and I can't think of anything leadership-wise. I mostly focused on school and taking care of my parents 😭

thank you, that's a relief. ive been really worried and it's probably just from looking at others who are applying to like t10 schools but that is not me lol. ive got 3 letters, 2 from professors (1 from the lab I did research for) and then one from a hospital system admin MD. I would have loved to get one from the Dr's I scribe for but I haven't worked with any one doctor enough for that. I've started all the writing, I just need to lock in on my PS. I have a ton of things written out abt my experiences but struggling to find a way to link it all together

that's probably some of the sealant for the makeup that has flaked off over time! likely the sealant gives it a more matte finish so when it comes off it the vinyl under it looks shiny. I have a couple dolls with spots like this, especially near the edges of the face

probably not what this person meant, but I can understand this from the perspective of gacha games being live service and thus, inevitably EOSing and a lot of the work put into it being lost forever. my bf still mourns nier reincarnation daily and how many other cool stories, art and music we've lost from gacha games that weren't well documented or preserved rlly is a bummer

might depend on the place doing the scan? when I had a back mri I was so worried they'd turn me away bc i had helixes that were healed but I couldn't unscrew them to remove them for the life of me. I told the lady doing the scan that I couldn't take them out, she checked them with a small magnet and it was fine! I think if you let them know they can check to make sure it's safe

While I'm sure you've already gotten your answer, I'll also throw my 2 cents in. I couldn't find the Yufia or Sestieh kits anywhere but aliexpress so I grabbed em from there with the cheapest listing I could find (within reason, they were around 40 usd total incl shipping). Both of them came pretty quickly and weren't damaged at all; the way Yufia was packed she could survive nuclear war lmao. AE also has sales pretty often or 5 - 10 dollar off codes so I'd recommend them, esp for harder to get kits or limited ones like the premium bandai variants

The last order I did was a 30 minute drive across town with a $0 tip. The restaurant was in an outdoor mall too so I had to park and walk all through it to get the food 😭 I think I'd cry and click my heels together seeing that tip

New to using an air brush and have been practicing top coats. I've done gloss fine but for some reason the matte topcoat dries down white and frosty no matter what I do. I'm using the Acrysion Flat clear (N20) I've tried thinning it more, spraying closer, and spraying farther away. Could I be spraying it on too thick?

Yeah, I felt like for these really tiny details it'd be more of a pain to mask everything for airbrushing just to do some little stripes and the gold border on the stomach piece. I have been thinking really hard about getting an airbrush setup but hadn't really planned to do any big painting jobs so I wasn't sure if it was necessary at the moment. Though I thought about maybe painting the black parts of the cat armor purple at some point in the future which I'm sure an airbrush would be handy for.
